Our RV Cabinets Falling - Can I Fix it?

The dealer had told me they'd fix the cabinets at the end of the warranty period. They didn't. Surely I can fix them myself, right? I'm even going to try matching the stain color. DIY RV repair - episode 1: How to fix an RV Cabinet

Good job.Nice set of DeWalt tools too.My micro Minnie started leaking from shower dome in the first year.I replace the dome and I saw the poor job they did.It was kind of disappointed.

Thanks Gonzalo. Build quality is a mindset I've been wrapping my head around for a while now. Do we expect too much for the cost? I just don't know. I feel the Micro Minnie is still better than most after touring a bunch more at a recent RV show. Some of the other brands were really rough, when brand new.

I found you’re channel searching for videos on how well the Gladiator tows a small camper. Coincidentally the Winnebago Micro Minnie is the camper I have been looking at. I believe that American made products are far superior to Asian made items. The exception is the RV industry. I have looked at campers where the cabinet doors fell off while it’s new and still sitting on the dealers lot. I thought that Winnebago would be better. I’m disappointed to see the issues you have at one year. I’m glad you can fix these items yourself. Winnebago knows the woodwork won’t hold up going down a bumpy road just being held together by brads. They just don’t care, just like all the others. Also that wiring looks like chit. It looks like there is an in-line fuse buried in there that you can’t get to. Sorry you had to go through this.

Thanks Richard. Overall, I'm really happy with the Winnebago compared to others I looked at. I suspect there are a bit more troublesome issues with the pandemic period units like mine. I'm more frustrated with that last dealer experience, but they're probably overloaded and understaffed too. Either way, I'm going to keep plugging do as much of the handy work as I can.

It was that particle board, pressed sawdust looking material. I felt solid wood would be stronger. Plus, I wanted to see what I could do with stain, as an experiment. 🙂
