Worked in a salt mine , in a south Louisiana salt dome. We used 4 tons of anfo per night, in 2 faces and a bench shot. 28'x100'x15' faces and 70'x100'x15' bench shot

@@Askjeffwilliams both in my parish, Iberia ,the Jefferson Island mine got flooded by a drilling rig in the 80's,the Avery Island mine closed a year or two after the grouters loss the battle with water intrusion. By the way 1 pallet per face 2 pallets per bench shot. On the 1300' level the ceiling in the bench was 100', took a 120' galleon crane to scale the ceiling. We ran 60 yard dump trucks and the front end loader had a 17 yard bucket.

Because he also is an entertainer, and as the economists tell me he has utility value and with that he can monetize the utility he provides. I understand that you and I are freeloaders and as such we can entertain ourselves so we are not inclined to pay. But those who do do so because they want to and they also want more content and a few tokens of gratitude for the support. There is nothing wrong with this. Wish I could afford to do the traveling. I'm an old widow now and am too slow to keep up with a crowd. Sure do miss going on digs and loading all that stuff home from Arkansas and Missouri (mostly)! Since trips are getting too expensive for me, I have to rely on my local friend who owns a gravel business. He's got a HUGE pit dug into the center and it's nothing but pure white sand down there! Just thankful I can go locally ... but then I'll never find the treasures you are finding as long as I'm in Mississippi!

Jeff… I know you have passion to do mine but please put supports beams and piles to hold the roof of your caves… the weight of the soil above the cave get lose and will end on in the cave. That is why in mine put a support ceiling in every 15’ or less to protect the miners as well the cave to be free of obstacles 🤔🤔🤔🤔🐝

I remember a group from 70s. I actually saw them at a boat dock bar on Mississippi river in Illinois in 2000. Head east. They had a song on first album flat as a pancake called City of gold. The truth about mining is it will shorten your life. I passed by this mine in the California desert and this poor thin woman was all bones with a scrape on her nose. What was dangerous about that mine is quartz. You’ll be coughing up lungs. Gold fever makes people act irrational. Even if you wear a mask you’ll still be breathing dust.
