Congrats guys and we're Soooo proud of yall! Ppl in the comments, yall gotta chill out with the trollin comments. How are these guys price gouging when they're starting everything off at $1? You want them to start everything at 1 cents or something? They are doing great on Whatnot but its not just because they have alot of youtube subscribers. We started selling on Whatnot a while back and typically make $500-$800 on every show in 2-3 hrs. Plus, the top sellers on Whatnot DON'T EVEN HAVE A HIGH SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWING, so STOP hating on Josh and Hayley and get your lazy but up and start selling on Whatnot! Then, when you start making money, come back here and say thanks for the video lol! God bless yall! About to get ready for tonight's Whatnot show 😂!

This is why I’m not even going to watch this video. I like some of his older stuff from the flea market and garage sales but with all the stuff he sells on whatnot now, it’s like okay nothing more to learn from you. The fact that you have this following is the sole reason your Whatnot even exists. If people don’t have an audience, it’s not even worth it to get into whatnot.

@johnd4371Ай бұрын
We know that whatnot gives larger sellers, like yourself, money specifically designed to buy giveaway prizes…to attract more buyers. It makes sense, you have huge followings, and an easy investment for the last form to allot a given amount of money in each “power seller” auction for giveaway prizes. But, what’s the rule…are you supposed to announce that it was actually provided by whatnot for “advertising”/get more into the live auction…or are you absolutely supposed to act like it’s truly your own funds that provided them? Or,do most KZbin/power sellers just avoid the topic (of where these prizes came from) altogether?

How do you run a one item sale o whatnot. I am new to the platform and do not quite know how to do one item. Love your content
@heathervonallmen7367Ай бұрын
When calculating your average selling price, did you just take your total sales divided by number of items sold (the mean), or did you base it on taking all the items sold, sorting by smallest to largest and finding the middle ranked item (median). Asking because the answers can be very different if you had a couple of items that sold for significantly more than others. The median or mode may be a better representation of what can be expected from selling.
@HairyTornadoАй бұрын
It’s the average. The most expensive item was like $160 and the least expensive was $2
@heathervonallmen7367Ай бұрын
@HairyTornado thanks. The different ways of reporting can have really different results, especially if you have outliers on the high (or low) end. To give people the best view of selling price letting them know the high, low, and the median can be more informative than the mean. Sorry, I work with data for my full time job, so this is something I always have to ask when vendors are giving me stats about their data sets. 🤷♀️🙂
@rachelh5211Ай бұрын
@@heathervonallmen7367Fair point. But I can also understand why they went for an average rather than mode/median. Not everyone has a data background and the corresponding skills. I respect that they're just trying their best to present this concept in a way others might be motivated to give it a try. Many resellers are tight-lipped and don't "support their friends."
@heathervonallmen7367Ай бұрын
@rachelh5211 totally agree. And wasn't trying to be obnoxious. He did a great job of explaining their success with Whatnot. I was just thinking that for people thinking about trying it, a different way of presenting their sales might be more representative ( but I also understand that giving the mean is easiest to calculate).

Step 1. Have 400k subscribers on youtube.
@beckyrubin3754Ай бұрын
No, step one is working hard for years, spending hours and hours buying, cleaning and shipping stuff and building a channel. Having genuine folks who obviously care and take pride in their business, trying all kinds of ways to source products and eventually (as in YEARS) earn a huge number of subscribers. This has not happened overnight. It annoys me to no end that anyone would criticize Josh and Hayley. They are living the American dream…working hard and succeeding.
@heatfrictionracing9452Ай бұрын

@@beckyrubin3754what you say is true but what @heatfrictionracing9452 is true too. If you don’t have the KZbin following or other social media following chances are you are lucky to get 10 buyers in your whatnot show. I’ve sold online since 1999. I never did the social media thing as all my time was spent sourcing, listing and shipping. I mean I talked about all this in the video. Obviously it helps having a KZbin channel but we aren’t even in the top 5% of whatnot sellers .$6000 in one show is really nothing compared to the bigger sellers on the app. And very few of them have social media at all.

You also failed to mention that with being paid to advertise for them and get new customers to the platform, that you'll also be making money off of this video.
