Hello, Many people say in the comments that I fear the way I will be treated when visiting Iraq. I answered him with the following reply. We do not hate any nationality in the world despite the strange things you hear about us. We are a peaceful and friendly people. We are glad to see tourists in our country. We will not take money from you. When you buy something, the doors of our homes open to welcome you, you are welcome and we are glad to have you 🫵🏻🤍

I honestly don't think that the Iraqi people cares where you come from, what nationality you are. They have more important business to deal with such as re building their country, promoting tourism, earning a living etc etc. They are an intelligent race and the majority are quite liberal and tolerate.

4:15 Molly, it's interesting to me that you find the "Ali Baba" monument to be "so random". I'm sure you know by now that Baghdad is home to a number of historical landmarks and monuments, each with its own unique story to tell. This particular monument is the statue of Kahramana, a symbol of resilience and strength that stands tall in the heart of the city. The fact that it was built five decades ago is a testimony to the talent of all Iraqi artists. I don’t think there is any other Arab country that showcases a contemporary work of art depicting a female heroine in the middle of their streets. The statue of Kahramana is more than just a piece of art; it is a powerful symbol of hope and inspiration. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a brighter future. As Iraq continues to rebuild and move forward, the statue of Kahramana will remain a beacon of hope for generations to come.

Alshaheed monument was designed by the late Ismail Fattah Alturk, but it was executed by the Japanese. As for Kahrumana statue ( or Marjana, as she was named in The Arabian Nights) she was the bright maid of Ali Baba who stumbled across the cave (that opens with the magical password Open Sesame) where the gang of 40 thieves hid their treasures, and after finding out that the treasures were taken away by Ali Baba, they tried a camouflage by hiding inside 40 pots, and were introduced into Ali's house by their boss who pretended to be a merchant passing by asking for a place to sleep at, but that scheme was discovered by the smart maid Kahrumana who poured hot oil into the 40 pots. Nice work you got there covering different Iraqi landmarks 👍
