Unfortunately this happens all the time, it's sick. The birth giver of my niece neglected her when she was born. She only had her for a month when she got taken away and came to live with my family and my brother (her dad). My niece was born addicted to xanax and she would drink while pregnant. This woman wouldn't feed her correctly and my niece would go most the day without a bottle sitting in the same diaper from the night before till 4 in the afternoon till that monster finally woke up. She had a bleeding diaper rash. Losing weight and cried alot because of hunger. I'm so relieved my brother called CPS on her. Her other kids were removed from her care as well. She never did anything to try to get visits with my niece or change. My brother got full custody of her. Unfortunately she had another baby and still has no legal custody of all the other kids. They should have deemed her unfit for the new child but they did not. The courts are aware she's a child neglecting drug addict that never did any programs asked of her, but she can have other kids? She didn't even leave this state and got away with that. It's scary that many children have the chance to be saved and they don't save them 😢

Maybe. CPS is well known to seize children from innocent parents in order to receive federal funds and judges that work in their courts often come out of retirement to adjudicate the cases are easily corrupted since no longer have to face the voters to get re-elected. All in all each case is different but please don't automatically trust CPS's financially motivated and ego (they all think it's their job to dictate how everyone else should live because "they" are smarter and better than everyone in the public--actually taught this in college) driven claims.

But mothers are guilty of these kinds of crimes too like in case of Blanche Monnier. Still men are over represented in causing harm to their kids and other kids, that's why kids are told to look for a woman in a dangerous situation and rarely see people trusting male babysitters. As a survivor of severe abuse. I can say that I can, only, speak of my own abuser. I was so afraid of him that I thought he could hear me when I was in my room. He abused all of us, including my mother. My sister and I broke the cycle but it was only because I had an incredibly strong mother. As a mother, it made me just sick and angry to think about how my father escaped any punishment for the torture all of us endured. I met him as an adult. He was beloved by his community, a PHD at a university, and had other children between his 5 marriages. I made sure to confront him in public as he professed his enduring love for me. I followed up by letting the university know what this man had done. When I left my last meeting with him, I was visibly shaking. He died a year later. None of his children by him. His 5th wife, off with another man….Abusive parents can scare their children so much that they don’t speak up until they’re much older (50 years old, in my case). This case made me feel sick..If you EVER suspect abuse, speak up. It was my 3rd grade teacher who spoke up for me and I know she is still with me. ❤❤❤

I used professionally developed curriculum and kept diligent logs of what we did because I fully expected someone to surprise me somewhere along the line and want to confirm he was getting an education. @@HellenaHanbasquet I also don't get that some people can torture their children and go completely unnoticed. Where I live law doesn't require you to attend school, but to acquire an education. This means that if parents choose to homeschool, their children have external annual exams to test their knowledge (which has to be equal to what public schools require in their curriculum). If the child fails, law requires the child to attend a public school again. Nevertheless, every now and then we hear about children who are completely neglected and slip out of school. It's shocking.

Every child removed from school after a report of suspected abuse should have a surprise visit to their homes. It's too easy to just pull them out and say that they will be home schooled. It would take time for a parent to be up and ready for home schooling and should be on some register of when their home school start date will be and as I said previously, anyone who suddenly withdraws their child from public school should be already on the homeschooling list to double check. We have to do more including hire more Social Workers who have way too large caseloads to adequately monitor all the at risk children.

The fact that he got away with doing this to so many of his other kids-- that it took a little boy being sado-sexually tortured to death for authorities to even see that there was a problem in the household, is just evidence of how many kids slip through the cracks every day.

This story seriously makes me weep for this little boy. His sisters are forever scarred, too, because of having to watch their brother being abused and murdered right in front of their eyes. These two “parents” absolutely should be taken out and hung at the gallows. Bring back capitol punishment in this form and it will set an example for all to see. I know that to some this sounds barbaric, but what these two did to this defenseless child is beyond barbaric and absolutely deserves the ultimate punishment. It’s as simple as that. I mourn for this little boy. I can’t imagine being the medical examiner who has to examine the remains from such cases as this. Having to see up close and personal just what people do to each other and to small children would drive me mad. I just don’t know how they do it.

"Crib death" is not a cause of death, it's a term used by coroners to be gentle. It's hard to tell the cause of death in small infants. It's typically suffocation or suffocation via aspiration, so "crib death" protects parents from criticism, which sometimes is not justified, as they couldn't have prevented it unless the baby was right with them...

For his step son to leap out of the witness box and try to attack him while in court, after being incarcerated in the past and knowing that he would likely go straight to jail for it, he must have endured similar or other serious forms of abuse by him. The part where the daughter testified against her parents, describing all of the torture he went through, the humiliating, despicable, degrading, painful, vile, twisted, inhumane torture... I have no words... I wish they suffer in jail. The father really has some nasty ideas. Putting two of his oldest sons to either fight or **** each other while he watched... I'm boiling. I'm legit boiling. Those 2 don't deserve to be parents, but definitely deserve each other to have their last moment in this world be as painful and as traumatic as what they've inflicted on their dead son.

I dont remember this on any local news here in arkansas. Thank you for covering this. Edit. My dad said my uncle had to esscort the parents in and out of the court house. He said that the dad got off 2 times due to technicalities the third time he got charged. She took a plea deal to not get death. Out here in jail he lost 100lbs cause the other inmates wouldnt let him eat. Good serves him right. This whole thing is heart breaking.

I have no words to adequately describe the depth of my sorrow and sympathy for Isiah. The desperation, helplessness, and confusion he must have felt trying to understand how or why his parents inflicted so much pain and misery on him. Even the death penalty would have been too light of a sentence for his monstrous parents.

I think the issue is that something similar probably happened to the fathers and/or mothers in their pasts. Most people who are abusers were abused themselves, as children. They are acting out their pain & previous torture on someone more vulnerable - might be a wife, kids, pets, etc...Look at how his older kids turned out. They were abused & turned into criminals, getting charged with battery & such. My husband's father was a physically, emotionally, & verbally abusive drunk. They suffered broken bones & many other injuries. 2 out of the 4 kids went on to physically & possibly sexually abuse their own kids. Luckily, my husband was taken under a neighbor lady's wing & sought counseling as an adult. But not until after he suffered an alcohol & drug addiction. he broke the cycle of abuse. If it had not been for our neighbor (a lovely lady that I now consider my MIL) I don't know what would have happened to him. My real MIL talked about laughing about her husband slapping her son so hard that it took him off his little 3 year old feet. They were both monsters. But she also talked about being physically beaten by her mother & her husband grew up with vile drunks. It is a cycle of evil.

Lawyer here… every criminal defendant has a constitutional right to a lawyer. Whether we like it or not SOMEONE has to defend him. Public defenders are paid by the state and their paid shit. Criminal defendants also have a right to appeal and the lawyers need to try their best or the defendant can claim ineffective assistance of counsel and the conviction can get overturned. Long story short.. don’t blame the lawyers, public Defenders are doing their best. Most of their clients are poor people who commit nonviolent crimes

In all fairness, lawyers HAVE to do their job without complaint. They can’t intentionally sabotage a client because they hate them. So, that’s probably why in a lot of cases where the defendant did something extremely evil, the lawyer seems to be pulling arguments out of their ass. They genuinely don’t have anything else to work with so they have no choice but to scrape the bottom of the barrel for defenses they can use. In the end it’s up to the judge and jury to make the correct moral decision, not the lawyers.
@d.v.3314

@@mossyfriends1911 Exactly. The lawyers don't always get to choose who they represent and I can't imagine it's easy trying to defend the literal scum of the earth, especially when you yourself don't even want them to walk. I would imagine that's also why sometimes the defense lawyers will try hard to get the client to accept a plea deal even if the client doesn't want it, because sometimes that person shouldn't be walking free and they know that.
