Dr. Corvera performed my surgery on 8-20-15. I had a very complex operation of Bile Duct cancer and portal vein reconstruction. I’m so thankful to have Dr. Corvera and his team of doctors and nurses. I literally owe my life to them. I’m just shy of 3 years NED. So Dr. Corvera, if you read this, Jamie Coe is doing fantastic. My family thanks you.

My father was diagnosed with one the most fatal types of cancer (gallbalder and cholangio), but we didnt give up and we did our best and after 8 hours surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy he defeated his cancer. If you and your beloved ones has this problem dont get disappointed and with faith in GOD, you should just do your best. When you do your best with hope, the GOD will make the best decisions for you.❤

I am thankful for my brother getting a 3rd opinion at UCSF. Dr Jahan and his team fought to save my brother but his cancer was very aggressive. I truly am grateful for the way my brother as well as the family was treated at UCSF, because of the great medical care I am now focused on going back to school to become a physician assistant.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct cancer 7 weeks ago. My question is, if the people that were healed had metastasis in other organs or if they just had the tumor?

How is your mom now?
@Steffelchen1980

@@jhulanmondal727 everything that could have gone wrong went wrong tbh. She’s in hospital right now. We had a talk with her doc that our backs are against the wall. She had a sonogram and the reduced chemo she got prepared one bile duct to where a drain could be put in. She had that done two weeks ago today. Bedrest for a day, when she was allowed to get up she had excruciating pain, was given calories because her appetite went completely and with those fluids she got pneumonia and a fever. Good thing is the bile is draining into her duodenum now, her bilirubin is almost at normal level, but she’s weak since she hasn’t gotten up for 2 weeks. We are also battling one doctor (her main one is on vacation). She lacks empathy. We know her treatment is palliative, we know she won’t live to 80 but she keeps repeating that almost every day and asks my mom if she REALLY WANTS more chemo. Plan with her main doc is that the bile needs to drain so she can get another chemo medication in full dosage to try to shrink the main tumor and to get rid or shrink the metastasis she has so she can get some quality of life back. I’ve spend the last week trying to cheer her up because that stupid doc is putting her down. Tbh she doesn’t have another option than the chemo. It’s that or saying she’s ready to die. She wants to live so her mind is made up. Yesterday she got up and walked her first steps. Chemo is planned for Monday or Tuesday and then another day or two in hospital and she comes home. We need to get her moving until then and we are making progress. If you asked me 3.5 months ago if she would still be here I would have said no. She’s my super hero ❤️. Thank you so much for asking and excuse any typos or grammar errors. I’m german 😂.

I’m actually in hospital right now, because my mom is passing away. Another infection, more weakness but she’s not ready to let go yet. I was praying to have her stay longer and right now I’m praying she’ll let go to be at peace. 4 month and 6 days between being diagnosed and the end 💔.

Is best Le duct cancer genetic? I'm healthy. I have acid reflux and heartburn with certain foods. My mom Paula died from bile duct cancer in December 2016.

My parent died from extra hepatic bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). They found it before it spread to lymph nodes and other organs and believed they got it all. But he caught an infection called clostridium difficile at the hospital a few weeks after the surgery and that killed him, not the cancer. He was doing well, walking beginning to eat solid foods, talking but once he contracted the infection he began going downhill. 4 weeks after his surgery, which completely removed what was a well defined small cancer in his bile duct, he died from the problems of the infection. One thing, yes I have the same problem - acid reflux. I stopped drinking caffeinated drinks like coffee and no longer have that problem. My father also had the same problem. I believe there may be an association to this. So keep an eye on your health.
