I love approaching things in different ways! Chasing the underground railroad sounds fun! We enjoy finding various underground railroad spots as we are out on our travels.

That’s one of the amazing things about Ohio. We have a very rich URR history! I’ve noticed your approach and we seem to like similar activities and learning avenues. ❤️

Park schooling...such fun! School does look different because of the great weather. We loved our plant/tree learning that we did last year. Summer is such a great time for that. I think the bus that Rosa Parks rode is in the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan. Would love to go there!

Oh I will have to see if the bus is there. Thanks for letting me know!

What environmental science curriculum will you be using?
@teachthemfun2 жыл бұрын
I will not be using an exact curriculum. I make my own unit studies and use books. I am hoping to share a video with all the books I am using

Just found your channel and so far I've enjoyed the couple videos that I've watched. I'm new to homeschooling still trying to figure out and I just had a question of maybe how you do things. I have children from 3 to 14 . I get overwhelmed with trying to put our interest into learning. So for instance we want to learn about ocean animals or planting. When I look up things I get overwhelmed with all the resources that are out there and not sure how to decide which ones to use or how to implement them into our learning. Any ideas or tips of how you do things when you guys are wanting to learn things of interest? And inputs are soooo welcome form this struggling mom lol

It can certainly be overwhelming. There are several options. My favorite is create a unit study myself, that way I can hone in on exactly what I want the lessons to cover. My second favorite option is look for books my favorite publishers (DK, Penguin, and Scholastic). I can choose a few books and do literature based learning and let my kids ask all the questions to see what else we can learn on the subject. A lot of people simply like to find a curriculum they love and stick to it. That option probably offers the most structure and repetitive schedule, which is why others choose and I simply don't LOL. I'm in more of a learn as we go mode. I'll soon be adding more unit studies on my own website ( www.teachthemfun.com ) but there are other great unit study options like thistleandbuscuits, mymegabundles, wheredyoulearnthat and several others.
