Now I don’t own an EV but your comment really made me laugh. You know how much more expensive a G wagon is and I wouldn’t even consider that as a practical vehicle for the everyday person and don’t start on the price. I’m not even letting you go there. Love seeing this content! Kyle keeps saying that the rear locker on the AWD should be more capable. I’d like to challenge this since, If the purpose of a locker is to take all the power available at the diff and (a single motor in the case of the dual motor CT) and make it available to the tire that’s still on the ground, I’d expect the dual and tri motor variants to be similar since any one of the two motors in the rear of the tri motor is roughly equivalent to the single motor in the rear of the dual motor. I really want to see Out of Spec test the two models on the same terrain side by side, rather than just repeating this assumption. I bet they are very close. Keep it up guys!

@@boostav Unfortunately tesla doesn't publish the breakdown, but I believe they are within 5-10% on performance. So, at rough estimate it should be close enough to where tire pressure is probably a bigger factor. It is really janky engaging and disengaging the lockers. I have a dual motor and I use front and rear lockers 2-3 times each week to cross a very soft sand beach to go e-foiling. It works great once it’s engaged. The worst part is it tries to disengage if you get out (trail heads, camping, e-foiling, etc…), which sucks if you are parking in deep sand and need the lockers on to move forward.

I consider your reviews and videos the most technically informative and knowledgeable of all the channels out there and highly value your opinion based or your first hand reseach and on & off road experience with the vehicles. I plan to use with a cyberlandr ( if it ever comes to market as originally revealed). for mostly on road use with some (30%) mild off roading while gold prospecting. Trying to determine which unit would be most efficient ( enegy useage) with the constant additional payload of approx 2000 lbs. Would the trimotor with the extra power be more efficeint in moving the extra payload down the road and up & down hills vs the AWD dual motor which is normally more energy efficient. What would be the advantages disadvantges of the AWD with dual lockers, vs the trimotor setup with only one locker for off road use. i see a company is marketing a sway bar disconnect kit and also wonder if that is really beneficial with the CT's suspension setup.
