Kaeya knew dain was listening to their convo, so he intentionally dropped his surname and dain thought kaeya wouldn't have done that if he knew, kaeya definitely knows more and hiding stuff. Kaeya most prolly have a huge role for the endgame.

Another interesting detail is when Chlothar says he saw "our companion" leave towards the forest, he wasn't talking about Paimon. We (Aether) were looking for our travelling companion (Paimon), but the memories are of our twin (Lumine) so her "companion" might refer to Dainsleif.

It is Dainsleif. As you may remember, there was a scene where we woke up crying for our lost sibling with Dainsleif saying he was going into the forest. At that point, we were already in the sibling's memory, so it was in fact the sibling crying for the MC.

Here’s the thing, Chlothar called what happened to Caribert as becoming “The Loom of Fate”. What is Caribert? A half-Khaenri’ahn and half-Mondstadter. Cursed by Celestia. Inflicted by Abyssal Power. Kaeya specifically mentions Dainsleif to be a pure-blooded Khaenri’ahn. Kaeya does not have the same eyes as other Khaenri’ahns we’ve met (Dain, Halfdan, Chlothar), this leads me to believe that Kaeya himself is half-Khaenri’ahn. He was left in Mondstadt by daddy Alberich to be their “only hope”. For what? Kaeya is also touched by Celestia or at least by divinity because of his Vision. That means only a touch of Abyssal power is left for Kaeya to mirror Caribert. I wonder if Kaeya is planned to be THE Loom of Fate. “Whoever controls the abyss can control everything”

Hi, i play in French and English isn’t my first language but bear with me for a sec, the French translation for THE sinner is « Transgresseur » (like “to transgress”in eng, transgressing the rules of heavenly principles/Teyvat, maybe ?) While the word “sinner” in Kaeya’s dialogue is translated into « pêcheur» the word used mostly in religion. The sinners in his dialogue may be either referring the ones who turned into creatures after turning their backs against their divinities or the Khaenri’ans that were cursed with immortality. That may be a French mistranslation or it could signify that Kaeya does not know much more or he hides it from the traveler. I hope it makes sense, sorry for answering so late

I loved his unstableness, but the laughs every other sentence was so off putting. Like it felt way more fake. If only he kept the unstable tone and removed most of the laughs. The way jp switches between normal/calm to pretty insane almost instantly sometimes makes me way more uncomfortable, but I still liked the eng’s constant unstableness yk.

If yall pay attention, the past memory shenanigans in this quest is already foreshadowed by the statue of the seven. You’ll notice the statue reverts back to its lvl 1 form and Nahida not being able to reply because she was locked (she usually reply especially in interesting case like this) Now that its out of the way, if only Nahida is free at this time, would this guy wont turn to the dark side? Will our sibling wont turn to the Abyss? It just shows how Akademiya locking up Nahida is so fucked up. She could literally help this guy.

And if Nahida did help Caribert would Celestia notice and possibly intervene? Celestia has done nothing to the Abyss Order as far as we know so it all could’ve been prevented indeed. …Or she also couldn’t get rid of the curse and in the end Chlothar would still stumble upon the “Sinner” in his desperation to find another solution. Because the Curse was placed by the Heavenly Principles not the Abyss and we don’t know Nahida’s power over Celestia, not to mention she was a newly born Archon at the time.

According to Chlothar, the archons were the ones who decided (or at least agreed with the decision) to indiscriminately place the curse on them. So, why would we expect Nahida to now try give this one hilichurl their clarity back? Do we know of any instances of archons doing this to any hilichurl at all? There must have been many children that were turned into monsters, it seems to me very naive to think Nahida would really intervene here.

A lot of people have been speculating that Kaeya is descended from Caribert or is Caribert himself but I would personally argue that he isn’t. During the archon quest, we are unsure of Caribert’s fate, however when we confront Chlothar on the matter he merely responds that “Caribert did not deserve his fate” and that he became “the loom of fate” If Caribert became human why would Chlothar attach such negative connotations to that outcome? And if he did become human, why just abandon Caribert? His own son? We obviously see as the quest goes on that Chlothar becomes more unstable as time goes on. Which leads me to believe that Caribert’s fate is an unfortunate one. As for how Kaeya is descended from him. I do not believe he is descended from Caribert directly or at all. From a historical analysis Charibert I was the second son of Chlothar I, and given Genshin’s particular focus on names and meanings derived from them, Kaeya would most likely be descended from Chlothar’s other son. After all, Caribert is his illegitimate child and so it isn’t far fetched that he would have had a legitimate one as well, historically illegitimate children are not given their father’s surname’s, so Caribert would not have taken the name ‘Alberich’. The fact that Chlothar may have already had a legitimate family may explain his cause of shame he explained in the archon quest. So Kaeya may either be a descendant from Chlothar’s other son or he may not even be descended from Chlothar himself at all. Chlothar I was one of 4 sons of Clovis I, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility either that Kaeya is descended from one of Chlothar’s brothers and his descendants. Overall though I really enjoyed this quest, and I’m so happy for you Minsleif that your theory about Khaenri’ah being under Sumeru was right! But I definitely think Kaeya knew way more than he was letting on given he evaded any serious questioning and left as soon as possible. Overall very excited for all your lore theories that are going to come from this quest. 💗

It's also more likely because the Alberich are suppose to be regents, I doubt that someone like Caribert would be handen that responsibility since he isn't a pure blood. Of course it's (highly) speculated that Kaeya isn't a pure blood either, but maybe by then the pure bloods started to die out and had no other choices left. Idk

The person who buried Alberich next to his wife is most likely the Abyss sibling given the fact how they sided with the Abyss after what the abyss sibling witnessed during their time with Eide while Dainslief was in the forest. The sibling probably respected Alberich as the Abyss King and wanted him to be next to his wife after dying which makes it true that he did find out how to reverse the curse and……Kaeya is Caribert 😎 And Kaeya’s “big decision” to make later on (as mentioned in Mona’s voice dialogue) is to side with the Abyss as the “Loom of Fate” or…. with Traveler. I feel like to keep their most important key to their plan safe was to remove Kaeya’s memories as Caribert from Irminsul and have him live his days as Kaeya until they need him again to fulfill his role as the Loom of Fate. Supporting fact: Caribert didn’t die otherwise the Abyss Loom of Fate plan wouldn’t still be active in present time and Dainslief wouldn’t be investigating it.

I've seen no one talk about Chlothar saying "prince/princess if KHAENRI'AH" they didn't say princess of the Abyss Order + The Abyss Order wasbt established yet. According to Pierro the Abyss twin suddenly appeared one day in Khaenri'ah. King Irmin is dead (iirc) and the Alberich clan had to take over as regents, but not the "princess/prince" If you catch my drift Or I am being dumb and just missed something

What if the story in the battle pass is actually about the two twins and that they are respectively both the prince and princess of khaenriah but someone has made them forgot via Irminsul but because we know in the interlude story quest with Scaramouche that his story was made into a type of story book but didn't mention his name so it hasn't been tampered by Irminsul so the story in BP could be alluding to the twins in general in more ways than one than we thought that they are a prince and a princess

I think that immortality curse wasn't caused by gods but rather by darkness. That's why gods can't fix it even Nahida, the most knowledgable of Archons, had to wipe part of herself to merely reverse damage in the presence caused by knowledge from the Abyss from 500 years ago. That's how Abyss gains followers: corrupts life then offers a remedy for missery it manufactured.

Did our abyss sibling end up ruling Khaenri'ah for a while or something? Maybe they were trying to wake us up and ended up as the ruler of Khaenri'ah bc they had different, powerful abilities not commonly seen on Teyvat, and were clearly not beholden to any Archon. Bc the Alberichs were apparently regents, and Clothar refers to sibling as if they are of higher status than him, as well as looking to them to lead the country to greater things. Also explains why Dain, as captain of the royal guards, would have travelled with them for a bit.

I did this quest almost right after it came out, but the main thing that confused me is the order of events? Like, did clothar bury caribert's mother and then grow the mushrooms from her alone? Unless it's not that specific to the place she was buried exactly, shouldn't the mushrooms be growing both only on one of the field's rows? It kinda felt like both bodies were already there, but it's said one of them is clothar? So was he already buried? If not, who buried him? It just made it seem like both were supposed to be there before the mushrooms were grown.

I just finished this quest yesterday. I really feel like Kaeya used Traveler to bait Dain. He could've lure Dain in but he needed the Traveler to loosened up some of Dain's reservations. 1:48:40 This is kinda funny because wheb I played this quest in EN, I literally picked "Calm down" because he was terrifying. Eide in EN was unsettling in a good way. Funny that we've been collecting hili masks from the start but we never really saw their faces.
