Absolutely gutted. We have been coming to Cornwall for 28 years and always go to Flambards especially as we love the Victorian Village and Britain In The Blitz. We visited last September and in May this year and visited Flambards both times. Absolutely saddened for the staff who have lost their jobs.I hope they preserve the Victorian Village and Britain In The Blitz. So sad 😢😢 plus we are Welsh from Llanelli in South Wales and absolutely love Cornwall. We holiday in Sea Acres in Kennack Sands down the Lizard. What a stunning part of the UK ❤❤❤❤

So many places closed over the years - I remember the Pleasure Park near Crowlas, Merlins Magic Land on the way to St Ives, Dairyland, Dingles Fairground Museum, Dobwalls Railway Park and also today the Charlestown Shipwreck and Treasure Museum. I wonder how long Lappa Valley can last now. So sad.

Your children are just the right age for Lighttwater Valley which i think they would really enjoy, also you have Flamingo Land, York and Scarbrough nearby. Right near Flamingo Land there is also a museum called Eden Camp which is in an old WW2 Prisoner Camp, all the huts house different displays on the wars from WW1 to modern wars and they show all the social history that goes with it, its a very good museum.
@marybradley7791Ай бұрын
I hope they can rescue the museums. I think the rides will end up somewhere else, it would be ironic if Lightwater bought some rides.

Well they used to own Lightwater Valley and thats exactly what they did, they assest stripped Lightwater Valley selling all the thrill rides and then sold it to Brighton Group, thankfully Brighton Group are doing well in reviving it by investing and providing lots of events, but they are starting from a low point and are having to build it up again they are marketing it as a park for under 12s.
@theBriceSideАй бұрын

My girlfriend and I visited just 2 months ago …… wish we hadn’t. I’ve been coming to Flambards since I was a kid and it used to be like heaven to me. I appreciate that things change, but about 70% of the rides and attractions have gone! All we got was 3 or 4 average rides and the Victorian village. That’s about it. My last memory of Flambards 😢 Hornet coaster - gone Balloon ride (the good one) - gone Thunderbolt - gone Hyper glide - gone Exploratorium - gone Boats - gone Superbob/3d cinema - gone We were done with everything available in less than 2 hours. Such a shame that one of the best places of my childhood was reduced to average fair ground rides.

If you want to experience a Victorian museum, there is a very similar one in the York Castle Museum. There is also a very good living victorian museum at The Black Country Museum in Dudley Birmingham there is also the Ironbridge Living Museum at Telford as well and the Beamish Living Museum in Northumberland a long way to these i know but if you are in the area they are worth visiting.

This is a classic story of get greedy find out the hard way , the talk of investment over recent years is laughable and everyone would agree whilst in the hands of the current company running the joint, the park has looked tired , unwelcoming, scruffy and hashed together for far too long , glory days were the 80s/90s shame to end on this note but I said it along … time for land development ! So many early memories so thanks to the park fur my childhood at least 🙂 Remembering things like the hyperglide , the bumper boats , pedal boats , the ladybug boats , the original dragon coaster , the simulator , the 3d cinema , super bob ride, the original ball pool in the 80s, the dune buggies, the exploritorium , gus honeybun , space rude( wit blackout canopy !) Original balloon ride , snoopy on the mini golf course , pirate fm parrot show , used to have such more character , buzz and excitement about the place , even remember a robot in the 80s at the gate greeting u as u walked in. ! And who can forget aeropark with all the amazing planes copters and lifeboats to explore ! Those are the parts I remember . Good times , unlike what it has become
