Thank you for this tribute. Dame Angela Lansbury was a truly wonderful actress who radiated such warmth, class and kindness. The character of Jessica "JB" Fletcher was one of the purest demonstrations of those qualities and represented everything good in the world, and an example of someone who always behaved impeccably and with such integrity at all times and earning respect from everyone she encountered as a result, including the murderers, who continued to politely address her as Mrs. Fletcher even after she had revealed their guilt and summoned the police to take them to their fate! As a society we have lost a great deal in these recent times, and the loss of Angela Lansbury at this point hits home even more, as someone who always seemed to be a constant, an anchor, and a reassuring example of the values and qualities we all aspire to but rarely achieve. Rest in peace, and thank you for all the wonderful memories and for making the world feel just a bit nicer, a bit kinder, and a more decent place to be in.

I always watched her with my grandmother when we were in mountain. I perfectly remember that all the time i returned to tennis lesson, my grandmother was waiting for me with the TV on and i came in her tipical old mountain’s house with the tune of La Signora in Giallo ( the name of the program in Italy ). Every days we ate with Jessica, she kept us company. When i discover the terrible news about her death, i immediatly called my grandmother and our voice at the phone were very sad. Thank you from me and from my grandmother Jessica ( Angela ) you were our special guest to everg dinner, you were big part of my childhood, big part of my grandmother seniority, big big part of our hearts. The show had some of the final musical performances of Hollywood legends not just Angela Lansbury, but people like Vivian Blaine, in addition to Lorna Luft! Maybe you guys could share the original full audio tracks of the performances, without the additional dialogue over the music. According to Kim Strauss who played Richie King, he did record a full studio version of the song, even though only a small clip was used in the show. It has to be assumed the same was done for the other musical performances! I love Angela Lansbury, I love Murder, She Wrote, I just really want to see it preserved!

An interesting tidbit about the episode entitled Dying Game (appears at 4:22). That episode was about a department store that's in financial trouble. Many of the scenes were filmed in a store called Bullock's Wilshire in Los Angeles. That store was where Angela Lansbury got her 1st job in Los Angeles as a salesgirl. She worked there between acting jobs. By the time they filmed that episode the actual store itself had fallen on hard times. It underwent some disastrous management changes over a few years, nearby malls got more foot traffic and then the LA riots came along and it was heavily damaged and looted. It closed not long afterwards. So bittersweet that Angela Lansbury would return decades later to say goodbye to the store by incorporating it into a MSW episode.
