Daniel, the help you and many others gave removing tress was more than people realize. Getting trees removed from my house and property was very difficult, but I also had friends who just showed up with supplies, chain saws, and a willingness to work to exhaustion. Someone just willing to help when you are emotiknally exhausted and don't know where to begin is priceless.

Thank you for showing the "after the media has left" aspect of the tornado. Having survived the media is an accomplishment! If you haven't been thru a disaster, there is no way you can understand. It takes at least 5 years to recover. And things will never be the same. For years you will be trying to find something, and realize when it was lost, transporting right back to that first day of recovery. All of you are in our prayers, and our hearts.

Daniel, I being from the New Orleans Area have saw lots of damaging weather conditions in my area. I have been watching your videos for a long time, and purchased lots of merchandise from you through the years, but when I saw the damage you guys sustained, I just had to donate to the Bank Fund. I wasn't much, because I'm retired and don't have a great deal of income, but I knew in my heart that anything was worth something. Sulphur will be restored, to some degree, but it takes time. I pray all of the people who lost everything will get back on track, but I know it will be a long timeconsuming road. Be Safe, and God Bless all of you. Thanks for keeping us informed on the clean-up process!

I went through Katrina which hit the Mississippi coast in 2005 and Daniel's description of a bomb in the middle of a war zone is very apt, that is exactly what the Mississippi coast looked like from the western side of Bay St. Louis to the Eastern edge at Pascagoula and then on to the Alabama coast. I lost everything I owned but the most important things survived, I was safe as was my family, my cats were safe and unlike some my car was safe and I still had a job! But among my total loss was over 1 000 books, a few were first editions, all of my family photos (I was the keeper of all of the family photos) so it wasn't just my childhood photos that were lost, but my brothers and my children's and even to a lesser extent my cousins. I also lost all of the oil paintings my late husband had done and as you said, these are the things that you can never replace. UT life goes on and God is good!

@@phyllisbrostrom7348 that's so sad. There is a simple way of restoring waterlogged books and photographs, but it takes electricity and bakers paper to do it. I learned this back in '05 when I worked in grounds maintenance at an apartment complex in a valley that had flooded. The boss woman sent me down to "help the librarian". I had no idea what was in store, and what I was about to learn. That "librarian" was the curator of a local museum who had priceless books in her home. She had me cut the baker's paper into certain sizes, which she then used to place between the books which she then placed inside a refrigerator! I kid you not! I was like, 😮. The refrigerator slowly dries the books out without molding, and the weight of the books keeps them from warping! The baker's paper is put between each book to keep them from sticking together! She stacked the books up on each rack to just below the top of each rack, and the top of the inside of the fridge, and left a small gap between the rows for airflow. It Actually WORKED!!!!!! The photographs were put on the bottom shelf which she put on stackable trays.

Daniel, last night in Lexington, Texas was our OES chapter's annual memorial program. We remember all those we have lost in the last year, and mention by name those we know but include those lost whose names we do not know and pray for the families. I encouraged each member to be empathetic and to develop a kinder heart toward others which you and Deejay have shown multiple times on your channel. I ended our program by mentioning that a youtuber ended each video with "Do something today to make someone smile because you never know, it just might change the world." Thank you for providing what I consider the perfect closing to our program and my year as worthy matron of our chapter.

I know exactly how you feel. My wife and I rode out Hurricane Harvey in our home in Rockport Texas. We had 158 mile a winds for about 14 hours and over 200 tornadoes crisscross our town. 3 tornadoes crossed our property. The north end of our house was hit but the rest of the house did not have any damage. We lost a bedroom, bathroom, laundry room and kitchen. Outside we lost a barn and our horses tack building, which we never found anything from it. The day after your stunned because before you had a beautiful home and stunning huge oak trees (over 200 giant oaks, and afterwards less than half that many without a leaf. You suffer from PTSD because it takes a couple of years to get your house rebuilt. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and community!

This was so moving and yet so sad. I live in Michigan and we have seen devastation from the storms! We lived for a few years in a little town up north with 1 Main Street & another larger cross street. The business district is important to the entire community & the county, state, etc. God bless you all and I pray everything will be better real soon! 🛐☮✝

I am amazed that with the amount of damage that more lives were not lost. I grew up in a one stoplight town growing up. I miss it now. The town has grown up so much that it doesn’t look remotely the same. I truly miss living in a small town. I pray that things can get back to normal soon for everyone in Sulphur.

They ought to be glad you are out there working!! So why are they trying to tell you or anyone else what or why?????? If these complainers want more help, let them find people to work these Tornados and major storms!!!!! It's really to bad the government can send a lot of money to the other Countries, but can't help people out in our own disasters!!!!!!

Thank you for the update. I live in Houston Texas right in the heart of the devastating winds and tornadoes. It starred in Sealy and Bellville and continued east for 80 miles. I just got power back after 5 days. I am safe along with my neighbors on my street. A tornado did hit a business one block north and the foam insulation ended up on my street and yard. The Lord protected us by lifting the tornado.

Daniel - people must fill out the SBA paperwork. It’s the only way to get to the grant programs in FEMA. SBA will get the paperwork to them. If they don’t get it - ask for it. I’m not sure what it’s like under this administration in a red state. I know what it’s been like in the past. But there is help. They should be opening recovery centers. There will be unemployment benefits specially created for disasters. Housing units will be brought in if the state requests them. Remember FEMA can only respond to the request of the state. OK is very well aware of the recovery process. Get involved. If something isn’t happening get with your city Govt. They are your key to the state making requests of FEMA. So many people don’t understand the process, it’s sad. The split of cleanup cost is normally 75%\25% the state pays 25% and FEMA pays 75%. It’s the push for safety and security. Historically FEMA covers the cost 100% in the first so many hours. And yes the slowdown is from the powers to be in the WH. There are historical programs and mitigation programs etc. The city and state needs to account for all the donations and volunteer hours. It helps to show how much money the community has already spent. All part of the equation. No it’s not fast. But it’s beneficial to the community in the long haul. FYI - the cabins may be able to be rented to responders. They can pay GSA rates and sometimes they have waivers to pay well above that rate when housing is limited.

@@Rondatompers. FEMA has its issues but it responds to the request of the state. It can only legally move on its own under devastation where the state is incapacitated. It’s really important for people to reach out to their city leaders and state for their needs. From there the state pushes the requests to FEMA. FEMA then coordinates with the appropriate agency whose normal function is in that area. The requests must come in from the state. The state can only request what the community requests. This is why things must remain at the state levels. Your government runs your state. Not the federal government. Don’t let anyone give those rights away.

Tornadoes are devastating and when it hits your town or community it's unreal. I've been in it before and it goes slow when cleaning up and rebuilding. Some things will never be rebuilt and some places will be horrid. Insurance, FEMA/Government, and community try and work together and it does get done but it's slow. Churches do an amazing job and help so very much. News media has done their job and they move on because there is always another storm or tragedy somewhere else. I'm so glad that you are keeping it alive for your family friends and community.

Thank you for updating us on your beautiful town. This reminds me of the first year I went to NOLA after Katrina. My husband and I and others from our church spent 10 years going to NOLA. First to demo, and gut, then to begin the rebuilding process and finally to celebrate families coming home. My heart is heavy and aches for your entire community. I wish there was a Physical way for me to help. We were always told that people need to tell their story to heal. Thank you for helping tell their stories. Blessings to your family and the Sulfur community.

I grew up in a small town. They help each other. Other things it that people have to deal with insurance. And that takes a lot of time. The people in that town. Are very trumatized. Their whole lives were turned upside. So they have to take it step by step. Give them some time. To heal. Lots of hugs and prayers for your town and anyone who was in the tornado. Or knew someone who was. Thank you Daniel for caring for your town.
