As someone who cries at work, I would've ran to the bathroom and cried if I got roasted like this 💀 Edit: Thank you for all the sweet and supportive comments :') 💚 It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this feeling. I understand everyone's PoV here, because emotions in the workplace can make a lot of people feel uncomfortable, but we're only human. Most of us will find a place to calm down as to not overwhelm others and pick ourselves up by the bootstraps. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but please try to be kind and understand that we're all built different. You never know what someone is going through either. This doesn't mean you can't joke with people, just be mindful of what you say sometimes. You don't have to walk on eggshells to do that.

so unprofessional lmao if it happens once whatever but if you’re consistently crying at work you really need to work on emotional regulation. there’s a time and place for things *edit* okay so since i’m getting bombarded with people whining about how it’s completely okay to cry at work all the time, im just gonna say this. If something traumatic or very serious happens during work and you need to go to the bathroom and breakdown, that’s completely understandable. What my original comment was referring to is overly sensitive people with no emotional regulation that cry over the littlest inconveniences all the time and make the work environment uncomfortable for their coworkers. Your coworkers aren’t going to be able to be assertive or approach you because they’re going to be afraid that you’re just gonna cry. That’s a problem and that is unprofessional. I rest my case.

@@whitewolf7664 I don't think calling out your coworker for crying then calling out another for lipgloss obsession equates; How does knowing everyone equate to a toxic activity but then someone else gets the clear tag: Yapper. But sure, perspective is everything.
@peteshopАй бұрын
I agree! The yapper and the ball of stress looked like their feelings were hurt.
@whitewolf7664Ай бұрын
@@Ry-tu3ki If you are a Yapper whose fault is that. I am a Yapper, do I love the term? Not always. Can I choose to talk less? Yes. Can I choose to talk more? Yes. Reality is what it is, if you don't like it change it, but you are not a victim because you don't like yourself. So whether someone chooses to cry at a drop of every hat, or glosses their lips every 5 minutes equates. Even someone who has to run to the bathroom every 5 minutes because of some bladder problem or they are pregnant knows before they leave the house in the morning, deal with it then. Don't get to work and cry because everyone calls you Toilet Tom. You have a meeting that can make you billions. Are you going to leave the investors waiting as you leave every 15 minutes to run to the bathroom?
@Ry-tu3kiАй бұрын
@@whitewolf7664 The fact you went into "Can I choose to talk more or less" after BEING CALLED a yapper is the exact reaction which is caused by said label--a negative connotation is attached to those. You admitted you do not enjoy the label, which further proves my point that the "light hearted joke" was underhandedly telling the person that you cry too much, talk too much, and are panicky too much COMPARED to something like "well, haha, I just am obsessed with lipglosses" or "I know everyone!" Or "is always busy", which is astronomically different and I'm not sure why you don't seem to grasp the nuances of that. Not trying to be mean, just genuinely wondering how you are actually blaming those being labelled something with negative connotation for possibly wondering. That's not how a good workplace functions. Devil's advocate: Maybe they do know each other all very well, maybe it's a great tight workplace and this interaction is not negative. That would be WONDERFUL. I'd venture to say that the labels were still noticeable in levels of teasing versus one another. I could care less about these people. I do not know them. I don't know whether they were offended: The point of my position is to question the off handed labels compared, again, to more innocent playful labels. You know, w/o the negative attachments.
