I was so tense watching Clair teetering on the edge of that unit. The stress of putting up a bracket and mounting a TV on the wall is the main reason why I personally prefer to have a TV standing on a unit; I also think it looks nicer but that's my personal taste. The garden is looking great so far, can't wait to see the finished result!

We had the same exact Samsung & ours did the same exact thing just a few months ago. Same sound, same flash, and the "magic smoke" pouring out of it. First TV I can remember doing that since probably the late 70s when our house was hit by lightning & the big tube TV blew up BIG TIME.

I buy films on blue-ray, transfer them to digital format and put on the PLEX app on my QNAP NAS to stream to TV and devices and then put the original in a storage box up the loft...:-)
