The burrito story cracked me up! The nurses and doctors told my fiancé that he couldn’t eat in the room since I couldn’t! I had already warned him do NOT eat while I’m in labor 😂 but they had my back! Best believe after I came out of recovery I had canes waiting on me though 😂😂

I had the balloon and didn’t get any drugs! I got my epidural after they broke my water. The balloon was SO painful!! I’m glad you got drugs ❤ also my son’s heart rate dropped they had to put a probe in the top of his head. It was nuts!!! Labor and delivery is just straight to chaos! I’m so glad everyone was healthy ❤ congrats (a little late)

I was given 3 epidurals incorrectly and was in so much more pain than I thought I could've been in at that point. Cause before the epidurals I was so much in pain. But after my back was exploded in pain as well as the intense contractions and such.

I think the worst thing about a miscarriage is that you still feel the contractions, pressure, and birth the same as a birthing mother. It just tends to be shorter because you don't need to dilate as much. I remember exactly when I reached transition, started pushing, and passed my 8 week fetus. I've had 4 live babies and the urges were the same.

Same! And they don't warn you that you literally go through labour...

Labor stories are really different. For me they started miso when i was already 41 weeks and they gave it to me in the hospital and had me stay. Also for precare i HAD to meet all the doctors in the practice at least once because they also were on rotation and anyone of them could have delivered my child. It was never going to be a stranger thank God.

Congratulations and so happy the podcast is back. Loved hearing about your birth story and can't wait to hear more about the first few months with Quinn! I have to admit when the Lions lost to the 49ers I totally thought about Shawn, so a quick chat about that on a future podcast would be appreciated as well. 🙂

I never took a birth class or did the Panea massage. I just push 30 minutes and didn’t tear at all. My doctor just help me push enough to not tear and he put warm towels down there to not tear

Lol ill say this about diaper changes because this was A CURVEBALL WE NEVER SAW COMING, my boy has an attachment to pulling the outer clear water proof fabric off his diaper and rubbing it on his forehead, and chews it and spits it out, i have no idea whats wrong with him. I have never told anyone other than grandparents obviously 😂😅😅😅😅😅

Good Lord I wouldve died if I didn't know my midwife would be at my labor. I mean my midwife is off I think for a day or two a week but thank God she was there for both my children's labors. I went into labor the day that that evening she was off I was freaking out for my second child, she was like don't worry I'm going to stay till you deliver I'm not leaving you I promise. And I think she still left for the night at her usual time after my delivery, it all worked out 😂

I shared my story on your miscarriage podcast. I also had to take the pills for my miscarriage. Same crazy story as you but mine was in 2006 when I was only 18. Then turn around to when I was about to have my son in 2007 I told my doctor I didn’t want any epidural, I’m personally so against it, my anxiety won’t let me because I’m dead set that I will be the person who gets paralyzed from it and I do have a pretty high pain tolerance. I told them I had already been in labor once with that and it was excruciating but doable and he was such a dick to me and tried to force my hand with MY body and still made me go through a meeting with the anesthesiologist because “ I would probably change my mind” and just incase I needed to have a C-section, which my doctor at the time was apparently a HUGE fan of. I changed practices after I had my son and went to an entirely different OBGYN practice immediately after and I’m still currently with that doctor who also delivered my daughter in 2008. I am so glad you had such amazing support beforehand with your team because that truly makes all the difference. With my son I had to have the balloon done also and he ended up being born on his due date the day after the balloon because his fluid was so low they had to induce my labor for me because I wasn’t dilated at all. My daughter I did have a sort of rom com water breaking situation lol. Her labor was actually longer than my sons and I had to end up getting pitocin with both of them.

I also couldn’t feel anything with my epidural. I was also offered a mirror and I said no, I was freaked out. I did have to put the baby in the car seat in the hospital and they checked it. I live in Illinois though.

Every pregnancy and birth is different :) And I think only like 15% of women actually have their water break Wow that’s funny I was also 21 1/2 inches ! And I remember during my birth that I offered to let my boyfriend at the time go home and get some rest but now I know I was just trying to be nice but it sucked being alone in the hospital lol

Regarding everyone scaring women: maybe I’m delusional, but I’ve heard horror stories about so many parts of pregnancy and that has not been my experience. I am 17 weeks and had to do IUI to conceive. All of the fertility testing is apparently horrific, and it wasn’t pleasant for me, but it was manageable. Idk if I have a high pain tolerance, but I just have this absurd confidence that everything’s going to be fine. I feel confident that my body will do what it needs to do. Maybe I’m an idiot… 😂 also most women I know have had c sections and never experienced labor so maybe I just don’t trust anyone. Hahah
@littlerebel_08258 ай бұрын
Unless they opted for a scheduled c-section a lot of C-Section Moms did experience labor it just turned into them needing a c-section. I arrived at the hospital 7:30pm didn’t get a room until 3am. I was started on Pitocin at 6am, inserted the same balloon she had at 8am contractions started immediately and painful at that. At 10am I was told I was bleeding a lot and my OB was contacted. At Noon my OB showed up and showed me the clots in her hands I was passing and informed me she didn’t like that and neither did my baby. I went back at 12:10 had my baby at 12:25. Not knocking your comment some people do opt for a c-section and schedule one but a lot of women who have c sections did experience labor just may leave out the details due to several reasons. Not trying to scare you, it was traumatic for them etc.
