There are homes for everyone, but not all are keen to work and pay for them.

Thats not because we dont want to work to save for a home, its usually because work is picky about the workers applying to them untill we never see it possible to afford a higher priced home any more - no matter how long we work for. Do the working years math, that isnt taught to us in school. Here i am being someones parent, while even their parents dont know this. World doesnt deserve me to educate, while im given the shaft. Such as saying theres lots of programming jobs but here i was an unemployed programmer untill i stopped wanting to be a programmer.

This is definitely a problem that needs addressed, we have carried out work in several coastal villages in the East Neuk of Fife, that’s Scotland and there are a plethora of second,(holiday), homes, which, of course lie uninhabited for much of the time, Unfortunately this has several negative effects, it sucks the life & energy from these, usually, rather charming places, it drives the property prices upwards and out of reach of the local inhabitants and, particularly, for younger people, it means they cannot find a place to live in their own community. Extra housing that is affordable needs to be built to prevent these charming places from turning into ghost towns. In the villages we worked in they all had a feeling of being abandoned & lifeless. Ironically it is their very charm & beauty that will be their death knell. Social - Economic issues abound in the UK as it’s managed, sorry, mis-managed by a shower of bloody half wits.

There's not a problem to be solved, Bosham is thriving because of tourism, and airBnB guests will spend far more than the retired locals.

How do you think the people in Canary island , Mallorca, Tenerife etc feels ??
@eliakimjosephsophia4542 Жыл бұрын
The difference is the northern Europeans spent a lot of money on those Islands and made them wealthy, whereas in the UK, immigration has made the working class poorer.

@@eliakimjosephsophia4542 the "working class" the most overused phrase by whingers, by working class do you mean unqualified minimum wage earners? If so time they upped their skill set
@eliakimjosephsophia4542 Жыл бұрын
Some of the working class that grew up in social housing also own their own companies like I did prior to retirement. You have to remember that 70% of the population grew up in social housing. It was the military that fought for it when they came home from WW2. We were brought up with work ethics, many of our dads were in the military. Most of my generation started work full-time at age 15 and we did a Saturday job as well, and in some cases worked evenings and weekends too. How can a young working class youngster up date their skill set today when education is so expensive to do so? Companies don't take on juniors like they did in my day. We grew with the companies that we worked for our skill set was learnt on the job. We didn't require degrees to be troubleshooters in those days. In the 80s, 90s and 20s, I also trained youngsters. I did my best to help the younger generations. Sadly, not all companies did or do and IMHV, the youngsters are kept on too long at school The gov originally did that to reduce the unemployment stats. @@Storm.Z.4u

Well, as it's the beauty and charm of these places that's causing the issue why not build loads of "affordable" and "social" housing round the edges. Just in case, seed said new areas with old dumped washing machines and the like, make sure only "Cs" move in, and there you are: Area ruined, yuppies leave and .... oh, wait, there are no jobs for the "locals"? Another socialist utopia created. God give me strength, we live in a Capitalist Society. Market forces and all that.
@Moscow_Will_Burn Жыл бұрын
You must have a really muddled mind. Building affordable homes is a SOCIALIST thing to do. Building Social houses is also a SOCIALIST thing to do. The clue in in the name SOCIAL HOUSING. You're clearly a Socialist but are too much of a Div to recognize it. You're moaning about Yuppies and unavoidable homes. Well guess what? THAT'S CAPITALISM IN ACTION BECAUSE THE MARKET DECIDES THE PRICE AND THAT MEANS PRICES STAY HIGH BECAUSE PROFIT IS KING.
