Our Wedding Photos | 48th Anniversary - The Papa's Kitchen

Today's video is a glimpse back to 48 years ago on our wedding day. We got married in Detroit Michigan at our home church, Bethesda Missionary Temple which is now known as Bethesda Christian Church. All of our siblings were a part of our wedding since we were the first to get married in our family. Jerry was 20 (4 mths from turning 21) and I was 22. We were young and naive and flying by the seat of our pants (so to speak), but we loved each other and we had a lot of support from family and friends. Little did we know where we would be 48 years later. But I must say, it has been an exciting life so far. Thanks for watching and celebrating with us! Susan

I love you guys! I really appreciate you both sharing your anniversary and dating story. I was teary-eyed just listening. First of all, I have so many many similar things in common! I'm the same age as your wife, I'll be 70 in October. I grew up in Detroit, Michigan untill about 3 years ago I moved to Texas. I love your whole family! Wow what memories!! We also were married 48 years in August this year. I was 20, husband 21. Met on a blind date in March 1972. My bridesmaids wore pink hats like your white one. I had the long Lacey veil and more of a Victorian dress with lace and buttons. Our cake had the pedestals too but with fountain on bottom. My husband still had 2 years of engineering left at GMI in Flint , but we lived in Indiana. Small world! Love your pictures. Think my dad had a suit like yours. Happy Anniversary!
