So, I live on the coast so we have fishing tournaments a lot. Somebody caught a Blue Marlin worth 3.25 million USD, but a shark came up and bit a cm of the tail off. One of the rules for the tournament was that the fish could not be mutilated by the propeller or a shark or anything. So the boat and crew lost out on all 3.25 million and could not get payed for it. They were furious.

9:58 as a French Canadian, I can confirm that "Quebec French" is very different than "France French". For starters, "France French" sounds very polite and soft which requires lots of articulation amongst the jaw muscles. Meanwhile "Quebec French" makes the person speaking it sound inebriated. I have many friends who came from France and they claim that it took them at least a few months to fully understand the slang and they sloppiness of the Quebecers despite already being fluent in the more difficult dialect. Also its funny when at 14:12 Schlatt says he would kill himself if he was ever trapped in Nunavut, because its actually the province/state with the highest suicide rate in all of America.

This is a great podcast to own a musket for home defense since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man. He's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix the bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He bleeds out while waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
