Oh dear, I’m so sorry about Lincoln’s fall. He IS very lucky because a bathroom has very hard fixtures to gravely hurt someone in a fall. Thank goodness there are no broken bones including his skull, concussion, or anything more serious. But I truly hope Lincoln has a speedy recovery and hope he can use this time to relax and heal. The bathroom and chandelier are beautiful. xx

I’m so glad Lincoln’s bones weren’t broken. Unfortunately it’s been my experience that the tendons and ligaments take sometime to heal as well. You both are so determined and talented. Wishing for a successful short term healing!

Oh my gosh…poor Lincoln. Hope he heals well. Having recently fell and landed on my face, breaking my nose in the process and taking a trip to the ER as a result, I really feel for you guys. Thank goodness Amanda was there and it was Lincoln’s shoulder and not his head that met the sink. The weather looks so promising. You two are amazing take it easy for a few weeks. Cheers

Bummer about the fall Lincoln and everyone is right, it could have been much, much worse. Guess you’ve been demoted from builder to teacher & photographer for a few weeks! Watching Amanda having a beverage in the garden makes me so envious. I live in Minnesota, an American city near the Canadian border. Today starts a winter blizzard expected to last for 4 days with temps around 10°f/-12c w/feels like temps -12f/-24c!! I want sunshine, warmer weather and blooming bulbs soo badly watching KZbin is envy inducing!🥶

Sorry to hear about the accident, how very scary. My husband is also banned from going up ladders alone now due to several garden related incidents. Wonder how many chandelier related incidents they see in the ER ? Son broke his wrist when we were on holiday in France and the care he received was amazing . Hope the wounded soldier recovers soon.

Sorry for the accident, I've broken my shoulder in the same conditions 5 years ago... Painting the walls will be a good reeducation ! 3:38 - 4:05 : the moves of the plastic sheet in front of the fireplace show how air is sucked up when there no fire, and the necessity of a hatch to block the chimney duct.

I hope your husband is ok now. I had similar accident and it resulted in frozen shoulder, so if not advised differently by the doctor, pls move your shoulder regularly otherwise it will “freeze”. In my case “freeze” lasted two years. It is a serious condition. All the best and I wish you a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

I knew it when I saw him amble up the ladder that he was going to fall over. Those aluminum ladders are so light, they tip over easily. The scaffolding that you assembled absolutely terrifies me for that very same reason. It goes without saying, please be mindful of balance when on these very useful but tipsy tools. Soyez prudent!

Glad he’s ok! If you don’t already, I recommend watching Chateau de la Ferte. Carole has been working on their Grand Salon for months and you might pick up some tips that will help you. She did liner paper in the places where the wallpaper would go on top. She also made molds to make plaster of Paris pieces for moldings that were missing or broken. Today she was repairing a broken marble fireplace surround.

OMG, you guys have been pulled backwards and forwards throughout your entire journey. I too have fallen through ceilings and off ladders, breaking hands/arms and ribs. They all do finally mend BUT, unfortunately, those same breakages come back to haunt you in later life!. Just have to say Amanda, I too like pasta! I feel your pain! I've fallen off a ladder twice. Once, I ripped a sink off of a wall. The second time I had a hammer in my pocket. The butt of the hammer hit the ground first and then my body weight hit the head of the hammer spreading apart several ribs. It hurt like the Dickens!!! That was a long recovery with very little that could be done. So glad you are ok.

Hi Amanda and Lincoln, you two amaze me taking on a project like restoring the chateau!!! Sorry for the fall that Lincoln had, but be sure to practice safety as those tall ceilings, ladders, and electical items can have serious pitfalls & consequences. Duh!!! My hubby has built new, done remodels, and performed handywork for many years so I'm always concerned especially when ladders and electricity, oh and saws are involved. Oh my word, Lincoln, I'm so sorry that you fell! I am so glad you weren't hurt any worse. Hate to see my favorite French-chateau DIYer laid up for 2 weeks. I was just hanging a chandelier (alone) a week ago and had a vision of the same thing happening to me. I have found it best to invest in a second ladder and have my very strong and insightful wife next to me for physical and moral support. Your video was a great reminder to me, to be more careful.

Oh poor Lincoln! I’m glad the fall wasn’t bad. But I’m sure it’s still painful and disruptive. That brace looks very much like the one my husband had to wear for a month after shoulder replacement. Showering and dressing were the hardest. Hope he bounces back quickly!
