This is easily the most astute commentary on drafting that I've seen in quite a while. Thank you for posting! I like the honest eval on the qb's. I like Milroe for his ceiling, but I know he is going to be a project, but all the people that I know that really know football all the same thing- wait until 2026 for qb. We keep taking the best available at positions of need and we end up taking a meh player really high (JMS!). We can't afford to do that at qb. Totally agree about Neal, absolutely move him to guard and try him before we give up on him. I can see Fields on a prove-it deal, if we don't take a qb in the first round. Also, love the talk on the need to take O-line every single year, period. During the TC heyday, they consistently brought in and drafted o-line and coached them up. We're not really doing that anymore.

MANNING IS NOT COMING OUT IN 2026. There are a bunch of other qbs but the thing is Schoen doesn't have the luxury of waiting. In Dave's mock draft he had the Giants getting Ward and if either him or Sanders are available, they will get one of them.

Solid podcast. So many possibilities to look at it’s daunting. I don’t trust the current mgmt to get it right so I just hope we can add more young starting talent to the team. I say if Ward is not there at 3 then go DE from Penn State because he will be an immediate impact player. Grab DT in second and best guard option in 3rd. Grab Fields and someone else to bridge QB until next year.

Syvertsen is an interesting character. Perhaps its because he doesn't want to "give away" all of his info and I totally understand that. But his QB draft grade process has not kept up with the times. Let's be VERY clear: Ward, Sanders and Milroe are ALL going in the first round. That's the way it is these days in the NFL. He needs to get up to speed asap.

I would like to see the Giants take a flier on Bazooka joe. Bring in a vet qb and draft Abdul Carter. We are going to stink next year so we could revisit QB in a better draft. Tired of trying to "win now". Win now is the fitness equivalent to believing fat loss pills work. Lose weight fast! It takes work and time and there are no shortcuts.

Still puzzled as to why they didn’t pick a QB last year. They could have been well positioned now for 2025. Nix, McCarthy, or Penix were all there. Nabors is going to be a very good player for a long time, but as we saw this year, without a credible QB, it doesn’t help enough to get you over the top or improve your team enough. I don’t know about Schoen. He has made some bad draft calls.

Penn State QB Drew Allar 6'-5" 240 might opt in for the 2025 NFL draft. This kid can throw and run. We take Hunter at 1 and move up to get Allar with our draft assets 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds. We go into next year with these skill position players: Nabors, Hunter, Tracy Jr, and a duel threat at QB in Allar. Check out his highlights vs Boise State and watch him against Notre Dame this Thursday night. This kid is the sleeper QB pick of this draft if he opts in.

I LOVE HIM Fans have such short memories Schoen walked into a dumpster fire. Older team, no real talent, and a cap nightmare anchored by a QB that sucked Fast forward to now. We have 65M in cap space, no bad contracts, and no players we absolutely have to sign Schoen should have a parade for getting Mara to agree to a 2 year out so we can get rid of the biggest problem We are now finished with demo phase. Give Schoen 2 years. I guarantee we’ll be much better

I think Mara made most of that Jones decision. Bowen should go, Tiereney should be fired as well. In fact if they see a rising star coach like Davis Webb that went to Denver replace that position coach. We need progress. Was it henderesn that was making great DB's or was it the other coach at the time. Need to ask Collins and Mckinney who was your best position coach. We need these positions almost more than we need a QB.

you should study your history on quarterbacks. you do not need to pick 1 or 2 to find a franchise quarterback or even a generational quarterback. The Giants should probably go back to their old draft strategy of picking the best available player regardless of position. If you do this overtime you'll end up with a team of good players.

He went on street to sign Hubbard and only signed Tyre when Ezeudu and Hubbard sucked. Ezeudu moved to T bc he sucked at G. No on GVR - 7 sacks 5 Pen unless 1yr 1.75mil 100k guar. We r NOT punting on QB in draft. Ezeudu hurt Lock in camp, and he saved Dabolls job. So they bring him back. Unfortunately. Unless he gets >5mil elsewhere.

I think the only thing that saved their job is John Mara and his obsessive need for optics of the organization to be positive. He doesn't want to keep firing people because it looks bad. Not true about Phillips - he was coming off an injury and not in football shape. He was elevated and played when they thought he was ready.
