I lived this chaos.. I wore a long sleeve shirts in California in the middle of the summer and blue jeans to cover the bruises. Are used to steal food from the neighbours yard they had fruit trees. The song resonates with me so much. But I am a survivor and now I have a wonderful life thank you God

DeonSavage I’m a long time country fan and this song made me cry after hearing it again after a long time. Oh and to add on to what you say about if seeing someone who is beating a child not only call the cops but beat the shit out of them I had an uncle who would spank my cousins way to hard ( he’s like 6’5” 250lbs volunteer fire fighter) my dad told him if ever saw that again he would beat his ass and my dads shorter than me but could have easily kicked his ass

There's a line between discipline and abuse. My birth mother was never there for me either, but my grandma was. My grandma ( daddy's mom) disciplined me but did not abuse. She taught me and my sister right from wrong and I thank God she did

I don't know if it's true,but it's said Angela Carter(the name on the stone)was the singers niece and it was the singers sister who beat her to death.I don't think there is proof of it being true or false,but on the website Find a grave it has the exact stone and name on the site and says she was 6 years old.
