I think your meat sauce in the American Goulash would be very versatile. Some of my Grandchildren love spaghetti and others rice or couscous. I would make up a big batch of meat sauce and add the appropriate carbohydrate at serving time. For real comfort food some of my family love mashed potato’s which would also go well. I’m sure Thespis sauce freezes like a dream in appropriate size containers. Thank you for the recipe.

15:02 Love your videos Colleen! I grew up on the Hungarian style of goulash with potatoes instead of pasta but I much prefer American goulash. Question for you…the written recipe doesn’t mention the soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce so I just wanted to double check the amount with you. If you would be so kind… P.S. if you put a damp paper towel or washcloth under your plastic cutting board it won’t slide around on your counter. And using the blunt edge of your knife to scrape things from the cutting board into the pot will save the sharpness of the blade edge. 😊
@stormyrain23356 ай бұрын
This is something something I grew up on in the 60's, soy sauce was never added, thank goodness my mom used Worcestershire sauce. 😊

Hi Colleen. I made this today, and it's very good. But when I watched your video I see that you added soya sauce, which is not listed in the ingredients list. So I am wondering what difference the soya sauce makes? Should I add it after the fact? I probably won't, this time, but may try it next time (and there will be a next time!). I live alone since my husband went to heaven, so a big pot of goulash isn't something I can eat all on my own right away. So I will freeze one-serving bags tomorrow, and will enjoy it over the next while. Thank you, dear friend, for sharing this recipe with us. I realize I am late to the party so you may not see this, but I hope you do so you can know that we, our here, are still watching your videos and enjoying your recipes. God bless.
