SRK has never said that he does movies to please his fans. If that was the case, he wouldn't have done Swades, Paheli, Chak De, MNIK, Dil Se, Hey Ram, Darr, Asoka at the peak of his career. Even lately, he's experimenting with Dear Zindagi, Fan, Zero, Ra. One. He's always maintained a balance of good movies & commerical ones. It's just that the directors are failing him really bad in recent times

As much as I love SRK’s self deprecating humour, he’s kind of selling himself short to be fair in that, he does do the song and dance numbers differently for different roles. Obvious examples are songs from Don, Rab ne Bana di and even Jabra from Fan. Also, he’s actually taken more risks in his projects lately but they haven’t worked at the box office.

He’s very shrewd... he’s uses the guise of ‘self deprecating comedy’ to never disclose anything truthful about himself. He always waits for the other person to disclose then parrots back, or deflects from speaking a truthful and reflective answer. I find it irritating and disingenuous.

His next project is with Atlee, a south indian director who specialises in copying movies (not remaking). So now that he's heading into Bollywood which is an industry famous for remakes, i don't know what to expect.

Not the fault of fans. He moulded his image in a certain way and marketed himself as a certain brand. Of course his audience only like him in those roles. You cannot set expectations that you are selling Punjabi food in your dhaaba and then start serving English breakfast. People won’t come for that. Amir Khan has avoided getting branded as one flavour and his fans like the variety because they expect that of him. SRK made truck load of money doing what he did and now he is bored of his fans and his fans are bored of him.

For example, during Chennai Express, he kept rehearsing and dancing over time even tho his shoulder required a serious surgery. He is being charming and modest. ❤️

Shahrukh Khan Sir works hard ,does rehearsals for everything; including dancing ☺️😍 (proof ...videos)He is joking when he says he just does a little of what he can n that's it.He has the ability to do great roles(Chak de...,Pardes,DDLJ, Devdas etc)The working with friends n people who the actor is comfortable with doesn't always pan out because for eg..Zero started out so well n then the film just took off in a different direction because the filmmakers wanted to make full use of his personality (in a larger than life persona)n not use enough of his acting skills...which is such a shame n a waste of his talent.I love Brad Pitt Sir-The way his presence,dialogue delivery makes a movie watchable n entertaining is simply awesome 🙏☺️😍This was a good interactive session between Rajeev Sir ,SRK Sir n Brad Sir 💕

Don't believe everything SRK says in interviews. He has a very dry humour and a self-deprecating one as well. That's why he said "he never rehearses because he won't get better" when infact he's a very good dancer and there are tons of videos of him rehearsing

You say SRK does roles that placate his fans without seeing the works he has taken risks with. Every couple of years in SRK's filmography there is a non-typical movie, you just have to look for it as those are the ones that are not popular. He has consistently taken risky roles throughout his career when typically actors did'nt do that during that time except maybe Aamir Khan. Just see his less popular movies.

Brad messed up the second question. The question was artistic and commercial balance. SRK couldn’t call off the answer of Brad Pitt and his ability to think quicker made the answer quite relevant to the question. He included the point of Brad whose answer was public and private life and related it with his family keeps him grounded saying my family don’t like my movies in artistic term and public love those stuff making movie successful.

Srk said in early 90s that commercial movies don't have much character in an interview ( I think which is great if you see and how he used to talk , behave initially ) hero have to dance ,do action even if it is a proper romantic movie or masala movie so character are generally similar .you just can't go in character properly because you can't do dance ,sing in a particular character generally

SRK indeed needs a director who can tap into his potential instead of a director who repeats what he does. He has done different work in the last few years and it has been good. I was glad he did different stuff, but unfortunately most of his fans don’t appreciate it so he goes back to what he does best but being repetitive isn’t helping him as an actor. And also that doesn’t work. And he needs a different manager, one that makes him take risks and points stuff out to him. His current manager is just pleasing him and his friends... he needs a manager that can guide him.

Absolutely loved brad in Kalifornia and i think he played the villian far better than the hero. He also nailed the fanfastical roles like in interview with a vampire . Srk on the other hand was born to be lovable on screen and theres literally no one i can think of apart from maybe cary grant on screen who had a similar vibe so its less about thier range and versatility as an actor but rather that no one can play the charming hero that almost every wan still wants in a man for thier warmth and charisma with a larger than life persona . Very few actors have that much magnamiousness on screen . Al pacino is larger than life in a very Michael Corleone or Tony kinda way but thats what we love about him. It would be wierd to see him cast as a lover boy and even if he can do it really well theres no one who can play the imtense disturbed man the way Al does. Hence there will only be one al. Sometimes we as an audience judge actors unfairly because if they are able to be a chameleon and keep changing their essence so drastically we dont fall in love with thier characters as much because its not iconic enough. Christian bale, Leo Di Caprio all do character roles well but the audience will remember Leo for Romeo and Juliet or the Titanic the most and Christian bale for American Psycho or the Machinist the most . Despite displaying range which btw i think Sean Penn does a great job of , i still feel the actors work we celebrate the most are the characters that are most iconic and the kind of characters that particular actor plays well. Movies like blue velvet are hailed today for the great mind that is David lynch behind it but it wont be remembered as quickly as say Avatar when discussing great cinema when avatar had very little to do with acting the first place. So to bring it back i would say that people love certain actors for certain kinds of roles they play and i feel its a plus and not a minus when actors stick to it as thats what the people expect and want and also that no one can play that role as well as them. Theres a greater risk of losing great cinema to CGI than there is of actors playing particular iconic roles repetitively . I mean can u imagine Jack Nicholson ever being sombre in any role? Whatever the role he brings the essentricity with him and brings that in every character and i would bet u that if he didnt do that we wouldnt love it as much. Because thats what makes him the great Jack Nicholson that he is and thats what we look forward to seeing when we know hes part of that film. Maybe just me but i highly doubt it and i feel its also the way the masses perceive it .
