Awesome lure video! Never tried underspins. Jigmasters has some with gold or silver I can order. Should match up with my Big Joshy 2 color. Yamamoto Yamatanuki- I have some of those black and blue. Matched them KVD Mustad EWG w/bait holder for Ned rig. I need a dedicated rod just for those. On your pad punching jigs. Creek Crawler recently tried that at a tournament in your area for the first time. Finished 12 out of 60+ anglers. He couldn't believe it I definitely need some swim jigs. All my jigs are finesse or just dragging off the bottom. Thank you for the video. Keep on learning , you'll never feel old.

Dude? You go'n Bill Dance on us...fishing privately stocked waters, getting all those donkeys? Gotta get back to fishing, I love those quick change punch skirts, haven't used any yet. The mini punch rigs look sexy for pitching cover, like a quick change Tx rig.

What size do use on the 3/0 under spin? 3.75 or the 4.25

For the Yamatanuki wacky o-ring…is it bigger than what you use for a Senko wacky? Or same size

Thanks for explaining the flashy swimmer. I miss alot of fish on it so I dont use it much. I think I'm setting the hook to hard and pulling it out of their mouth! 😂

@@wendellfishing I still suck at it. Haha. Caught 4 in a row on a square bill so I figured lets give it a shot again. I use a 3.8 paddle tail on a 3/0 flashy swimmer. I'm in a kayak with a mh and a m rod both with 10lb mono. I get bites and I set the hook not so hard and it looks like the hook didnt move of out of the hook slot position or I set it hard and it does expose the hook but as soon as the fish hits the surface they always spit the hook. I cannot get a solid hook set on a fluke or a spinnerbait either. That's the only 3 that give me trouble where I miss more fish than I land. 🤷 That and the ewg t rigs. I started using round bend and now get solid hook ups. Weird. Idk what I do wrong.

Do you ever use just a tiny weight on the Yamatunuki? Plus not a person on earth needs #65 braid. I challenge you to try to break 30-45# braid. Not going to happen.
@wendellfishing3 ай бұрын
I have never weighted it before
@DoYouLoveTheSilverHairedGod3 ай бұрын
Can’t break 30 to 45# braid huh? Guess you never hooked into a 65 + pound grass carp by accident. Had one snap 40 like it was thread. Lot a brand new popper too. 😡
@pequenioedgarito30673 ай бұрын
@@DoYouLoveTheSilverHairedGodthe scope of the video is for bass. Catching a monster carp with bass lures is an outlyer. 30lb up to 45lb braid for bass is more than enough. And. If braid on a jig were a problem, we would here it from the angler pros. Tight lines.
@DoYouLoveTheSilverHairedGod3 ай бұрын
@@pequenioedgarito3067 you simply said it was enough and challenged him to break it. I understand that the carp was an outlier but it does happen and carp aren’t the ONLY monster fish in lakes that can snag a lure. Hell there are some striped bass that I’m sure would snap 40 pound braid like it’s nothing. Yes, if the ONLY species you could ever possibly catch it largemouth bass, hell 15 pound floro would be enough. The entire purpose of braided line is to get as much strength out of it as you can to haul 10 + pound bass out of the toughest weeds and limbs as quickly as possible. I’ve lost several large bass with 30 pound braid because the wrapped me up on a limb. My point was that it is possible and happens frequently that 30 to 45 pound braid gets snapped. If you can get away with it by casting (or pitching/flipping) and still get bites, bigger is always better in those situations mentioned above.

How would an underspin be any better than a shirtless spinnerbait with a swim bait trailer on it? Just curious if there would be a reason it would work better.
@wendellfishing3 ай бұрын
It would depend on the blade size, color, shape, etc. They are similar but definitely different
@DoYouLoveTheSilverHairedGod3 ай бұрын
@@wendellfishing hmm. I may just have to pick some up and try them. Thats generally what I end up doing with spinnerbaits I end up not being crazy about. I just take the skirts off and run them with straight swim bait trailers. Works good in timber laydowns and stump fields.

Man I went to dicks and the tanuki was on sale bought it on a whim. I've caught one 4.12oz and four over 5 lbs. On it 3 of which off tje same tree in my local river all from the bank. I actually put a 1/4oz weight on my to give it an even faster fall. I haven't had any issue with 4/0 vmc heavy wire closed eye hook. Haven't lost one yet. I love the yamatanuki!!!! I love in NH so 5lber is a big one around here.
