Out of control Lexus IS200 1JZ Drift Build

We dropped by Ewan's workshop in Dundee to check out progress on his IS200 1JZ build. The level of detail going in is immense. By his own confession - it's gotten totally out of hand! You may have seen it on DriftlandTV's Drift My Ride, but here it is stripped right back to the metal for Ewan's full commitment build! He took some time out to chat about competitions, his drift philosophy of "skids and pizza" and his upcoming charity drift event Rogue Concept.

Love that he is just doing his own thing how he likes it, but doing it right. Not sure if I have recommended it before, but I think you'd really like the channel Fully Spooled. Friend of mine in CA building a Lexus SC400 drift car on his own and it's awesome. Also curious if you watch It's A Stu. He is in the UK and seems y'all would get along.

Wait I'm sorry what? 9000 pound difference between 1JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GTE? In the states you can get a 2JZ-GTE VVTi for $3000 USD all day long. They are all imports that came out of Aristo cars in Japan. A 1JZ-GTE is more like $2000 USD and they come from the Crown, Cresta, and Soarer it seems. Sometimes a bit cheaper. Are they really that much more expensive in the UK? Can they not just import bulk engines from Japan like we do here? Crazy.
