As a movie collector that’s been collecting since DVD first came out and now 4K bluerays. I am the type of person that only buys the movies I like and I don’t care if the movies valuable or not. I wouldn’t purchase it if I don’t like it.

I agree and those are in my collection because I do like them. The few that I don’t have are because of the higher price I think it’s outrageous. I figured a nice list for people to look out for while trying to get their favorites.

It's starting to become like video games. People see it as a value investment, instead of a physical piece of media to watch/play and enjoy. People will go out of their way to look up what is rare/valuable and snatch up all they can get to flip and sell for a profit. These people are like locusts and tarnish everything collecting used to be about

@@Chaso-1124 exactly can't tell you how many times I've run into that. There is this one guy that will use his family to block off/ take up the whole movie section while he has an arm full and looking each one up. Extremely frustrating and the other one that gets me is the guys that say buy two and flip one. I've overpaid for stuff Ive missed out on but 5-10 dollars is a far cry from hundreds. it seems to be an American problem because importing the same movies almost always on the cheap.

One that still eludes me: any domestic version of Godzilla vs. Biollante on bluray (both the Echo Bridge and Lionsgate releases) consistently goes for over $100 😭

I’ve paid way too much for some movies too. Both are great glad I bought Once Upon a Time way back when. I’m still holding out for an Airheads 4k but it I ever find one cheap enough I’ll have to grab it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Out of what you showed in your video. I have zapped, without a paddle, blind date, I have airheads on DVD as well as license to drive . I’m lucky enough that day one I got the pink panther collection from shout factory. It was a must have for me.

Very nice. 2012 I was on deployment most of that year so quite a few I missed out on. When I got out I ramped up the collecting having more room for everything it never dawned on me to see what I missed out on until it was to late and expensive. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I have a ton of oop stuff. Those Anchor Bay blu rays from back around 2013 are worth a lot. I have Airheads, License To Drive, Lucas, Dutch, Vital Signs, The Pick-Up Artist, The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane and Drive Me Crazy to name a few from Anchor Bay. I have many oop dvd's but one that's worth a small fortune is The Midnight Hour (another Anchor Bay). I found Once Upon A Time In America on blu ray in Best Buy's bargain bin for $5.99 (must have been before it went oop....was several years ago). Some other blu ray's i have Dead Alive (Lion's Gate), No Man's Land (Kino), Solarbabies (Kino), Modern Girls (Kino), Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 (Scream Factory), Blacula/Scream Blacula Scream (Scream Factory), Species 2 (Scream Factory), Breaking Away (Twilight Time), La Bamba (Twilight Time), Night Of The Scarecrow (Olive), Rapid Fire (Twilight Time) and Lady In White (Scream Factory)

Zapped is a good one if I ever want to part with it I’ll send it your way. (I’ll never part with it hahaha) good grab on with out a paddle. Sometimes sellers don’t know what they have and you can get a great deal.

Years ago, I bought Stuck on You starring Matt Damon in a Best Buy bargain bin for 5 dollars on blu ray. I never opened and it sits on my shelf and never imagined it would be oop. Its listed for 250 ish used and the brand new copy on ebay price is insane. Im always looking for a good time to sell but who really is going to pay an crazy ebay price for Stuck on you? Its a really funny movie but not worth paying anything over 25 dollars in my opinion

Awesome I really didn’t mind having Dogma on VHS but rumor has it the rights were purchased by paramount and a 4k is coming. Maybe not a day one purchase but I’ll pick up the 4k for sure. License to Drive is one I’m always tempted to just get the over priced eBay one or maybe import one but is a 4k around the corner? I’ll begrudgingly wait.

Great list by the way some heavy hitters on here. Also the Paramount Presents line copy of Breakdown with Kurt Russell is going for over $125 for a copy. Need that one bad but copies are insane but only for the fact that it’s part of the paramount collection that a lot of people need. People are scalping prices hard. Also the DVD version of Beverly Hillbillies with Jim Varny is only on DVD and I literally can NOT get it on digital. All the digital links are not valid to purchase anymore. Only way to watch that movie is solely on DVD and soon they will be going for well over $35 like they are now.

Thanks man I tried have stuff that people might not be talking about. 125 for me is too much for 1 movie.( although I did just order the super Mario set from umbrella entertainment) but if you don’t need the Paramount presents version Imprint films out of Australia put one I picked it up for under 30 bucks.

Yes I did actually pick up the imprint version of Breakdown unfortunately I was pretty deep into the Paramount presents collection, thought it could be completely relatively cheap but I was wrong lol. A remember seeing a ton of copies of Once Upon A Time in America at Wal Mart in the bargain bin. I did not pick it up as I heard the transfer is horrible.

I do too who knew it would have been a desired item. I think the transfer is good. What was jarring for me was not realizing it was the extended directors cut. There is a fairly lengthy scene that was added in and it seems like that scene was never restored or over exposed.

some of those will likely get a reissued in a few months or a years or two from now by boutique distributer . Zapped I would not be surprised if it get re-issued and Buckeroo bonza will likely get another re-release again. the only one I see will likely remain out of print for a little while longer is airheads. license to drive another I believe is likely will see the light again some day.

I have most of those, except the extended ONCE UPON A TIME, and WITHOUT A PADDLE, 'cos....it's WITHOUT A PADDLE. The Disney ones I don't own, but have several of those Disney DVD tins. Some of those are Anchor Bay blurays, and there are others also expensive and out of print--JUMPIN' JACK FLASH, THE ADVENTURES OF FORD FAIRLANE, DRIVE ME CRAZY, DUTCH, and two I wish I picked up when they were cheap--BEDAZZLED with Brendan Fraser and THE PICK UP ARTIST with Molly Ringwald and Robert Downey Jr. THE HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS is going for a lot of money, but luckily I got it cheap, however I just discovered that the Mill Creek twofer of MO' MONEY/HIGH SCHOOL HIGH is out of print. HIGH SCHOOL HIGH is available in a far superior transfer from Sony, but MO' MONEY was the one I wanted, and it's gone.

I think it does last time I saw one go for right around $150. There are MOD discs selling for a 100. but I’m pretty sure it never had an officially licensed MOD. So imo those are bootlegs selling for a bundle. I’d stay clear of those.

Forgot about 2 of the most expensive. Bedazzled Bluray goes for over $100, Dogma Bluray goes for over $60. Donald Duck treasures Volume 3 & 4 are both in the $300-$400 range but the Zorro version 1 & 2 of Disney Treasures I have seen go for more than that. Soo many OOP dvds and blurays but be very careful dropping tons of money of these. Eventually a lot of these will get 4Ks and most of the blurays and dvds will go way down. License to Drive and movies with big time actors will eventually get 4Ks when they get to it. A lot of these are only valuable because they haven’t been released in a higher quality. Some are rare because they are part of a collection, some because they are tied to difficult studios. I would advise not to buy any of these unless they have more than 1 qualification like hasn’t been released in higher quality AND also part of a collection. Or if you do buy them flip them quickly

I honestly forgot about bedazzled I only have the dvd bc it’s too pricey. I kept Dogma off the list just because I figured that one was common knowledge plus there is a video out that shows Kevin Smith saying a deal had Finally be struck for Dogma so it might see the light of day soon enough. Did know Zorror was so expensive either thanks for the info. I agree some of them will more than likely get a 4k soon or an international release, but it’s those movies that have goofy studios like touchstone or fox now not sure if Disney will put much of the good stuff out. Some movies are worth paying a little bit for imo but 100 for one movie in a cheap eco case isn’t worth it. I’d rather get the VHS or DVD. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@80sMadeConsumer I believe the Kevin smith deal you are talking about for Dogma was an April Fools joke and I believe he posted it on April 1st so I doubt anytime soon for Dogma. However I think eventually someone will be able to release 4Ks of Dogma, Bedazzled, License to Drive, all the big name actor movies will eventually come out. So for me to have 2 copies of Dogma that I bought for $60 each might not be worth it for me to hold in the long run. Bedazzled as well I got for a premium so it definitely worries me dropping big money on these OOP titles that will eventually get picked up by someone. Friday the 13th boxset was tied up forever and I bought the OOP black hard case version with the Digipack. Was going for over $200 but was able to snag one with everything for $40 once the new boxset came out. So definitely not worth it but for ones that you absolutely need in your collection and can’t wait then thats a different story lol. There are definitely some movies that I should not have paid what I did but that nostalgia gets us everytime
