Well, we got our Minelli that one time, so I don't mind getting two guys here. I do like Moreno and believe he has a rare combination of ratings that will give him an edge. While I am not usually a proponent of high swing & miss guys, you can't deny that speed and avoid K's are Vasquo's only real weaknesses. Another consideration is that our A's are rather light-in-the-britches regarding home runs, so if I ever had to gamble on this kind of guy Espregueira is it. Kudos!

Clourindo Moreno was absolutely the best player to get, great signing

Unfortunate that we couldn't get Bacias or Bonilla but landing two very good prospects is a more than solid pivot. As soon as espreguiera graduates from the complex we should consider just spamming his two strike approach every offseason and hope he can get up to 50 or 55.

I think it worked out well... still have some regrets about not ending up with Bonilla or Bacias. But 2 > 1...

Moreno and Espregueira probably is the best combination we could get in the IAFA. I have a similar corner OF to Espregueira who has low avoid K and good BABIP. He has low AVG, but pretty good OBP, SLG and WRC+ base on the good eyes and power and able to get the silver slugger.

I think if he comes close to reaching his full potential he can be a very interesting player... now we just need to get him there!

Good job considering the circumstances. You do realize that in real baseball if your firstbaseman sucks your entire infield suffers. Just a pet peeve of mine that I have dealt with dozens of times over the years.

Ha, good point! I usually try to have a good defense all over, but if there is one spot to skimp at in OOTP it is probably 1B!

It's a shame that Bacias got away. He's a Triple Crown winner waiting to happen. I think you should have gone all out for him. It'll be interesting to keep an eye on him over the years. Still came out of it well though.

I definitely may regret it! I really like the two prospects we got... but Bacias was my favorite guy in the pool.

Nice job on getting two of those you were looking at. Yes it would have been good to get Bacias or Bonilla but definitely getting two for is a good bit of compensation. Clearly Moreno was the class of the pitchers and it will be fun to see how Espregueira progresses. Definitely think he is better than Endo for sure. Ortega's contract strategy is confusing... deadline is closing in fast and his price keeps going up! What happens if no one signs him.. do we get anything if he eventually does end up somewhere?

I think it's smart to go for Moreno, IAFA is the best way to get an Ace for a team that's not drafting high. I don't get Espregueira, I think he's a huge risk with that avoid strike potential being so low. I think he has to fully hit that 40 to be an asset. But with the development you have, it's a chance he pans out. I just think it's a lot for a guy with a huge whole in his game.

He's definitely not my kind of player. But if he reaches his potential, I think he's a less objectionable version of guys like Cabral and Endo. So maybe I learn something giving a guy like him a chance!

Hard to find another Seifu and nail him down. Ortega to the Yankees ? No surprise if he signs with them. 🤑 He might go for an A-Rod contract. Kymanis nickname really show nicknames isn't the strong thing in OOTP. Me, I never use them, just too ludicrous in many cases.

Ha, I should probably turn them off... you are right, they are generally awful!
