Having been in similar circumstances in the past, I can fully appreciate what you went through. On the plus side, that boat yard did outstanding work, addressing not only basic problems but, fixing everything that will require service in the near future. Allan kitty always seemed to know how to make the best of the situation (I'm envious!). Most cats are not that well composed when their world has been upset. What an epic adventure. Made me tired just watching it lol! It looks like it was all worth it however, the boat looks really good now. Question: Were the holes or pits already on the boat when you bought it and you just didn't realize it? How do they happen; is it from rust, corrosion, or from bumping into things? You guys have such an interesting lifestyle. It's almost nomadic; even though it's on the water, it's still within defined areas of travel like a caravan. That cat wouldn’t drink water either and he had the same ball as Alan. So I switched his bowl to a glass bowl again to have interest. Then I changed his water to reverse osmosis water and he had more interest in our screen porch area. I now have an automatic waterer for cats a little BPA free plastic container that sets in the dish and keeps the water fresh as my cat drinks it. Interesting to note since then I have had my water tested and found no water needed in filtration system. Now my cat loves our water. Cats are very discerning Specially about water, but they also know more than us check your water. I love watching your adventures, especially Alan thank you for sharing.

Guys - if you don;t already have one - get a silk duvet. We used to have one (in Singapore) and it oddly kept you cool. Used the same one when we came back to Scotland, we used the same duvet all year round - kept us cool in the summer and hot (enough) in the winter. Magic stuff!!

Alan is so so so cute... I have a little farm and have 6 indoor outdoor cats.... they come and go as they like through our pet door and they are friends with my shih tau Malteses doggy and my bunnies and chickens. I lost my mum last feb and they have been my saving grace for sure.... I love seeing Alan... looking forward to getting in the know about her name.... thinking she was probably named before we knew the sex..? I'll be binge watching to get caught up!
