Nalisnki (Polish style and can't spell in Polish lol) we put it inside. We use farmers cheese or cottage cheese with sugar, cinnamon and sugar, Milk Chocolate ice cream topping, fruit and home made whipped cream, anything we want. Now I want my husband to make some tonight lol.

Nonno is literal. He did not make the crepe. lol. My mom made manicotti that way. Never store bought. As for who made the best. I like all of them. I also like them stuffed. Growing up in Chicago many years ago in an all Italian neighborhood., no one baked because we had Savianos' Bakery down the street. Who were our own local bakers fresh from Cerro al Volturno Molise, Italy. Plus they were our cousins.

I'm w/ you Julian. That's how my Grandmother, & Mother used to make theirs, only they were English, & they called theirs English pancakes, & they would put butter, & sugar on them, then roll it up, then put maple syrup on top of it, then serve them that way. :) Boy were they good, try it that way if you haven't yet.
