The Getty Museum (also known as The Villa in Malibu) had their own water tanks and fire safety plan and were totally prepared! All their structures and museum were saved because of the hard work and planning! Unlike what LA didn’t do! It is criminal what happened and I live here! Its easy to jump to conclusions during a tragedy and start blaming people. It doesn't help much. I thought about this a little. As a house burns and starts to be destroyed , the plumbing eventually fails. That means that every one of the 3000-4000 homes that were being destroyed were leaking large amounts of water. When I try to take a shower and wash clothes at the same time , i notice the pressure go down. This is what happened in California. Think of the gargantuan amount of water that was lost during this and what that did to the pressure. Im not saying things couldn't have been handled better, it's possibile that no amount of water reserves could have handled such an enormous demand.
