This little stove OUTAD is a monster. Brilliant bit of kit! Boiled a 1 gallon kettle on it at the Gillwell Anual reunion fellow scout masters amazed.

I bought a Primus burner from Wal-Mart, that mounted directly on top of the gas canister. . .After using it twice, I decided I didn't like the instability factor of the whole set up. I had seen this stove on amazon, and after watching this review I decided to give it a try. There just isn't any comparison, much better set-up. It works very well. . .very informative review, thanks.

The stove looks like it is well designed. I like the windscreen idea. Nice knife....it is definitely all you need. I agree with you. The cook set seems a little heavy for backpacking but would be nice for a small group doing a day hike. Leave the plastic pieces at home. Thank you for the review.

The stove is a great deal, I'm liking it a lot. Not sure exactly how the cook set is going to fit in with what I do. Thanks for watching

Nice "right out of the box" review. The stove does look very interesting, appears to be an improvement over the original D-power, too bad they removed the striker though. I am iffy on the cookset. As you mentioned there are a couple of items in there that look pretty worthless. Personally I own a kettle similar to that, and I own a pot and a skillet similar to those, but unless I was car camping its extremely unlikely I'd ever take them all out together. I did not buy them together, and I don't use them together, so I am not sure why OUTAD thought it would be a good idea to put them together. I think they could lower the price on the cookset by offering the kettle separately from the pot and skillet. Just my 2 cents!

Excellent price. I just do not care for the non stick coating. A nice stainless would have been nice and I would have scooped up several for gifts as well as myself. Great info and thanks for sharing.
@CavemanOutdoorsMissouri8 жыл бұрын
These do not have the non stick coating so oil would be necessary for cooking in. I like stainless too but to heavy for backpacking. Thanks for watching

This OutAd stove seemed to work well, but as I continued using, quirks started to happen. With a butane canister, using the adapter, it underburns at a low simmer setting. When it underburns, it gets loud, and does not shoot up the flame as in the normal operation. Instead, the flame burns under the burner head (the disk under the dome glows instead), and if allowed, it will overheat the lower part of the burner and may destroy or weaken the stove. Wwhen this happens, you must turn it off, wait for it to cool down, and re-light. The stove must be monitored, when simmering. For a casual use, OutAd may serve well, but I would not depend on it for a serious outing. It remains to be seen, how consistent and reliable it performs with more expensive iso-butane and propane mix. Additionally, if used with propane (with the 1-pound cyl.), the flame gets quite large, and flares, if the valve is opened beyond the limit for this stove. Best not use with propane, since this stove appears to have been designed for the iso-butane and propane mix fuel. I think I will stick with Primus MultiFuel. You get what you pay for.

Interesting, isn't it an 11 piece set? Pot, pan, lid, kettle, spoon, plastic cup w/handle, three bowls, bag, cleaning pad... 11? And weird, my lid fits the pan? Did they send you this stuff for your honest review? Was his name Jack? Interesting... Not bad stuff, they were going to send me the stove too, but they didn't have it in Amazon yet... Interesting my friend, great review and nice detail in the description... ATB Todd

They call it a 9 piece set on Amazon, I guess it depends on how you look at it. It was a lady from Outad that contacted me at first. I reviewed the DPower a year ago and have been in contact with them off and on since then. I have other gear from them that I actually purchased

did you actually test the boil time or just say what they claimed. The MSN whisper lite stove does it in 3.5 minutes. white gas has more BTW per Oz the propane/butane etc.... so I doubt 2.5 minutes boil time.
