Just awesome Ronny mate. Really great editing and footage. I know how much work goes into these shows mate, i make my own but on a much smaller and cheaper budget bro. Those purple wild flowers, looked to me like Paterson's Curse aka Echium plantagineum. I know you have issues with this weed in WA as do we in the high country Victoria. They contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids that cause liver damage in cattle and can kill small stock horses and calves if grazed upon for weeks at a time. They look nice enough but my god they can create real headache and huge loses/costs to the cockies. Goes to show you, Mother Nature..... she is in charge bro. Cheers Moose in Vic.

Great video series Ronny. I noticed the FJ was running the same Cooper tires I am looking to put on my 4x4 1 ton pickup. What amount of wear do you get with these before the tire needs replacing as I am gonna be going on and offroad with it?
@PhantasticAdventures8 жыл бұрын
i had the SST pro but changed them back the to ST. The STT pro where really good off road and in the mud, they where ok on sand and ok on the road. STT will wear a lot quicker and the rubber is softer and designed to be off road use mainly, the fuel usage also goes up wit the STT as they are more aggressive and also loader on the road. I changed them back to the ST as they are more of and all terrain tyre, notice it was a lot smoother on the road and quieter. also a massive improvement on fuel economy, the cooper ST are far better on road, sand and gravel. but are very average in mud. I am using my FJ for touring so and all terrain was the responsible decision. but if your looking for an aggressive appearance then STT pro all the way. Hope this helps with your decision
@davidgenthnerjr49958 жыл бұрын
Andrew Phan ty for the reply. I am looking for something with aggressive appearance as this truck will be seeing lots of offroad use for hunting, fishing, and camping trips into the wilderness. Also need luggy tires for when this truck has to plow snow in the winter time, and see not so ideal winter roads.

Ronny, with the amount of Camping you do Have you ever considered an Oz Tent over a Swag? In my eyes, some of the newer swags are half a tent anyway. For a longer trip, say 1 month, would you choose a different sleeping option?

+Leon Semark no im not, I can't afford the kit and I don't see why and when I'd really need it when I have lockers front and rear plus a winch and a good crew that joins me on most trips. There are other areas of the vehicle that need attention e.g. The rear tray boxes and shelter. I will be changing the axel very soon however.

What fuel usage is Andrew getting out of the FJ per 100ks
@PhantasticAdventures8 жыл бұрын
Hey Elis, I am the owner of the FJ on this video and for this specific trip i was averaging 18L/100km without all the gear i would average 16l/100km ( this is real world testing and not just figures from a brochure. I have since change the configuration of the car by changing tyres and also increasing tyre pressure on the road and also removed the roof top top of and XTM slim line and my fuel has improved while over landing. Hope this information has helped you

Kevin Gatt that's what "free standing" means. It holds upright on its own, you can peg it to help withstand strong winds for instance.

awesome love those wide guards, what size rubber have you got on that and does it help with the snow driving?
@gullf1sk8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah they help heaps, those two are modified by arctic trucks, the same guys who made the top gear polar expedition vehicles. 37" tires on both of them. It really really helps on the snow, specially when we air down to like 3 - 4 PSI. And if thats not low enough we just air down until there is no more air coming out of the tyre hehe.
