I installed mine this Afternoon. I left original tank guards on. I had to do some trimming. The crash bar holds it in place

I think the design should have left room for original plastic tank protection to stay in place. There can be situations where something can get through between the "orange" pipes and tank is now more vulnerable
@lankmd3 жыл бұрын
I've had this very think happen. Dropped it in soft sand and there was a rock hiding in the sand that scratched up the tank.

Nice work as always, looks very solid ! I have 2 questions : - everything looks very rigid, aren't you afraid that all the forces of a crash will go directly to the frame ? Some parts of the crash bars or skid plate should bend during the crash instead of putting all the energy on the frame don't u think ? To compare with sw motech I think they got it all wrong : crash bars and skid plate are all fixed to the engine...crazy !! - about ventilation : compare to the original skid plate, yours have only 4 ventilations on the top end.

Mine went on pretty easily but the bolts came without the torx insets - just silver flat-headed regular bolts - this made it a bit harder to tighten the ones beneath the crap flap on the front of the bars. Otherwise - very good job!

Looks good! A lot of load on those two small torx bolts up front and no washers either for all that hardware - didn't seem to me like anything had countersinks. Also, could the smaller piece of the bash plate have more vents?

Looks great. I would like to see an option without the tank crash bars, keeping the underframe rails. But be able to keep the plastic tank protectors and have more protection to stop mud filling up around the underside of the fuel tank. Good job though.

I have the centre stand and want to buy your skid plate/crash bar combo. Did you ever settle whether the KTM OEM centre stand will work with the Outback skid plate?

Its not a real new type of adhesive actually, but it is an anaerobic threadlocking adhesive. It requires the "absence of air to cure" like threads, threaded.
