I just had that happen. I noticed that the primer bulb was super hard from pressure. More fuel was being sucked in than was going to the motor.

Was it a Suzuki primer bulb ? Happening a lot to suzuki...

@@obscur156 no, it was one of gray “eco fuel lines”. They have a thin clear sleeve inside them that don’t hold up very well. Especially if they’re cut to modify and add your own ends onto them. I went through two of those lines in two years. Don’t buy those gray lines. I can’t think of the name.

@@huntspoint3442 I am always buying fuel lines at auto parts store, grey ones are junk. NAPA,Carquest or any other store rubber car fuel lines are perfect !

Good point. Spare hose and bulb not a bad idea . Along with clamps ,pliers , tape, vice grips , plugs, fuel filter , plug wrench, multi tool … and the list goes on. Lol. Thanks for sharing the video, makes a guy look at everything. Just wondering, how much water does your canoe draft? How shallow do you feel comfortable going. Looking at a similar set up with less horsepower for river running.

If you know where you are going and know that there is no rocks,3 feet of water is enough for that freighter canoe. Floatability is incredible for this hull.I am way over the builder recommendation,they say between 30 HP and 50 HP ... At WOT my lower unit is probaly around 1.5 feet deep. Mine is a Nor-West model Labrador 22 footer. You need a tool box and spare parts for sure. The first time it happened to me,i was 37 kilometers from camp. Motor never started up again and took me 5 hours to go back with my kicker motor... If you need more info,just ask. No brand is perfect in outboards just like in cars. Suzuki is a well known and reliable company,so for me there is no disadvantage...
