This fixed many many of my crashes. I ran for a straight 5-6 hours of the mid teen levels exploring much of the south west and south eastern parts of the map, not a single crash...until I killed my first Womble and reached Peckham... Huge improvement however, it was crashing constantly before this, so big thanks for posting it. :)

oh man thank you. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find explanations anywhere of which f4se version to install (2023 or next gen) & you're the first video to even say that it comes with it. I saw a whole different video where someone else had installed an extra f4se copy to their run folder and was doing it that way too

I skipped the XSE plugin, but can confirm that BUFFOUT4 fixed the train crash error on my steam deck. I’ll come back to install XSE if I encounter anymore, but looks great so far. Thank you so much!

10/10 guide! Deceptively easy (I did this with gog version), had it all running in under 5 minutes. I just added Buffout 4 + PluginPreloader, and all crashing has cleared up.

Secondary thank you: thanks for pointing out baka scrap heap and explaining the relationship between Buffout and Baka. I really don't know if the fix for everyone, but I ended up deleting it entirely and let Buffout 4 be the memory manager and its working so much better.

@@BesteWoGibt1979 it did that for me for about a week then doing this finally fixed it. You have to go into your pc files and delete EVERYTHING associated with fallout 4 before reinstalling. Goto your drive it was was installed all click steam, steam apps, common, then delete fallout 4 then goto your search bar and type %appdata% click enter it'll bring you to roaming then click app data on the top bar then there's a folder called local click this find fallout 4 delete it. Then it's ALL GONE then you can reinstall. Hope this helps

The version of XSE PluginPreloader you installed in the video is for the next gen update of Fallout 4. You should have scrolled down to the bottom of the "old files" list and installed version 0.2.5.1. Thanks for the video btw, helped me out!

@@timothybaptista2697 if you check the log file the 0.3 Plugin preloaders generates you can see that the 0.3 Plugin also does its work. Its not a f4se Plugin so it works over versions

Also, completely unrelated but helpful: I just realized I was playing on low settings this entire time. FOLON doesn't have a graphics settings menu. When you downgrade FO4 and install FOLON, if you immediately start playing FOLON without first running the base 4 launcher one time to set your graphics settings, it will default to low settings. I didn't know this and I didn't suspect anything was wrong because FOLON is a mod and no one knew what to expect. I thought it already looked fine. I accidentally started base FO4 today and I got a system prompt saying it couldn't detect my graphics card and was setting my graphics to default low settings. So I went to options, set my graphics to ultra, and restarted FOLON. The game looks amazing now. I can't believe I've been playing with low graphics this whole time lmao

After using highfps fix for loads and disabling "vsync in enb" plus "turning off animations during loading" and disabling "black screen during loading" now I load in 12 seconds to london from main menu and later 7 second to travel between london locations :D

Excited to try this. Was getting a lot of lengthy loading screens, no CTD though. Following the video as presented. Got to the part where you edit the config file. Only the extension on the file is TOML not HTML. Help what do I do now.

Goggled what TOML was and was able to edit the config file. Moved on to the next which was the Baka thing. that file is not even in the plugins folder. So just went ahead and started the game. got the FL loading screen, chose my last save and got a pop up box that said two FL files were missing. So start anyway just to see what happened and I started in the basement at the house in Sanctuary. Totally screwed up my game. Goin to uninstall.
