Great video Matt it's always good to hear when somebody admits to the odd mistake, the circle looked fantastic 👍

This was great !! Keep making videos! I’ll update when we do ours. You should include total costs at the end, I think home owners and diy enthusiasts would really like that!

Thats awesome! Thank you for the comment. I’ll remember that doing videos going forward. I try to put the costs in the description. Thank you again for the comment and advice.

That is BEAUTIFUL! I see you have a concrete patio as well. I already till my area BUT pavers are sooo expensive 😢 Is ‘roadbase’ necessary if using concrete instead of pavers or would I simply level ramp and pour
@JustaDude1233 ай бұрын
Absolutely they are. Everything at least doubled in price in the last couple of years.
@kvdieselkvdiesel25685 ай бұрын
Can you put the firepit on top of the pavers like that or do you need to put something in the bottom?
@JustaDude1235 ай бұрын
Great question. I would recommend using fire bricks between the pavers and the fire to prevent any damage being caused to the pavers by the heat of the fire. I recommend fire bricks because they wont “pop” when they get hot and send hot pieces of rock/bricks flying at you. I hope this helps. Please like and subscribe. Thank you for watching!

Looks awesome! But I have a circle patio concrete. Looking to build my firepit on.
@JustaDude1233 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I would use the concrete pavers to protect the concrete under the firepit. You could also cut them to have the same radius as the firepit so they dont stick out so far. Its a cleaner look but extra work.
@CarlosFerrell-jy6nd8 ай бұрын
Silly question but why did you put the pit on top of the pavers? Wouldn’t it be better to fill the pit with lava rocks or gravel?
@JustaDude1238 ай бұрын
Great question! I was trying to make a chamber inside the fire pit, along the inside of the walls, where the air can heat and rise then move back into the firepit. Most “smokeless” fire pits have it to reduce the amount of smoke. The inside also has lava rocks in it. Hope this answers your question. Thank you for watching!
@CarlosFerrell-jy6nd8 ай бұрын
Ok got it! Do you know ow if they sell paver kits where the center is left open for gravel and the pit instead of on top of pavers?
@nats6579 Жыл бұрын
Looks great!! How many chairs fit on the size patio you made?
@JustaDude123 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! 8 chairs no problem with space between and still close enough to the fire to feel it on a chilly night.

You really do things properly. In sweden we would have use "landscaping canvas" between the macaddam and the sand but you probably live in a way drier climate so that is probably not needed therere.
@JustaDude1232 жыл бұрын
I did think about using a moisture barrier however the soil is a heavy clay and I already have problems with water drainage. Thank you!
@rimmersbryggeri2 жыл бұрын
@@JustaDude123 I can imagine the polymer sand also alliviates the need for that since the drainage will be around the edges mostly when you use that.?
@JustaDude1232 жыл бұрын
Yup. The sand locks into place. I dont think much seeps through it.

I made the same mistake of using pvc. I ended up having to place paver stones on top of them while leveling to make sure they were not bending.

@@JustaDude123 its still a work in progress lol.. just started laying stones before the sun set today but looking good so far. I watched this video before I started as well. I should have noted down the part about adding 20% for materials!

Yeah! That’s definitely a draw back when you get to a point then have to stop to get more materials. Just a little tip I learned working in the trades. Hope the video helped!

Great job and such detailed construction video! Whom did you purchase the stone patio kit from? 1Manufacturer name 2Where did you find the extra pavers for botom of firepit and the patio? Thanks and was wondering if you have contractor background?
@JustaDude1233 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. The paver kit is manufactured by basalite. You can go to their website and type in your zip code and find the product dealers in your area. The firepit was ordered through home depot and delivered to my address. The extra pavers for the circle kit I was able to get from the circle kit supplier. They are Basalite Italian Renaissance Tumpled Paver large squares. The fire pit bottom pavers are a sierra blend trap paver I was able to find at home depot. I have a residential/commercial construction and maintenance background. Hope this helps. Thank you again. Please like and subscribe!

Nice work, do you do this professionally or did you just decided to do the project, did some research and planning and went for it? Turned out very professional.
@JustaDude1233 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I used to work in construction with residential home remodeling and custom home construction. Thats where I learned about setting grade and sting lines. I always thought the paver patios look really nice so I did some research and went for it. So, I guess the answer to your question is “yes” haha. Hopefully it helps out some people in building theirs. Thank you again for the comment. Please subscribe.
