Amazing video I'm in the process of building and enclosure for my iguana and then my savannah monitor next. I live in Florida so almost year round its great weather for them, but I'm curious in the winter where do you put your lizards enclosure? I'm having a hard time figuring out what I'm going to do. And also how do you cut the hardware cloth?
@rickylafleur58233 жыл бұрын
tin snips or side cutters do the trick, would recommend getting galvanized if your in a high humidity environment and want it to last.

All the wood is pressure treated. I fill the enclosure with dirt and mulch. I will do an update when I have all of that done so you can see it.

The metal on the bottom is just there to keep them from digging out.

Hey I also have an outside enclosure just wondering what you do I winter .? I am in florida so it doesnt get really really cold and she does have a heat/basking spot at all times but will she need to be brought inside ? I have a spare room but will It be to cold inside.? my house is 72 at all times .
@RoseCityReptilesTX5 жыл бұрын
That's going to change depending on where you are located. I know you said Florida but how south are you? Also how is your hide constructed? It's possible to keep outside all year in Florida with a proper hide. I bring mine in because it gets too cold in Texas. I put mine into totes and brumate in a temp controlled room kept at 55-60 degrees.
@mrs.rosewilkins3585 жыл бұрын
I am about 2 hours from orlando in dunnellon fl . She has just a basic home made wood hide but she usually stays buried. 6 days out of the week she does come inside basically all day and free roams she has a area set up with heat and whatnot. However her enclosure for night is outside and it's in my sunroom where the screens have a pull down type covers so that does help it stay warmer however we can get temps in the high 30s outside so I'm nervous as to what I should do. Her enclosure is also nothing like yours it is screen on top and has vents on the sides but the rest is plywood . Thank you in advance

So I just build this enclosure and put two full grown tegus in it but the female continues to nudge her head against the hardware cloth and she’s starting to scratch her nose pretty bad. Have you ever had this issue? Will she eventually stop doing that?
