After watching, I bought the women’s version in teal. Prefer it to my Arcteryx cerium for the reasons you gave. And half the price. And it looks really sharp. Did size up to a medium and it is good for me at 5’6” 128.

Great review - I’ve just bought one. Just a question regarding ongoing care. Have you successfully washed jacket? If so how did you dry after washing - air dry or tumble dryer ? Thanks

This is an awesome and very informative review! I bought the jacket maybe a week ago but I find that especially the sleeves are not too lofty/puffy… it seems the feathers don’t hold their loft. Is it meant to be like that or am I just being a bit crazy here?

fill weight is pretty low compared to other brands. I find this to be a cold jacket so really just good for around town or if layering. It is meant for mountain use where you would be layering and taking off and putting on layers as you need too. It is breathable for hiking so can be warm there...but you better have layers.

Would you pick this over a patagoniandown hoodie, arcteryx cerium or others models for urban everyday use In southern Canada winters?

I would use any of them for everday use. I suppose it comes down to the fit and features on what you want. I have used each in cold temps and felt confident. I keep the OR in the truck for adventures, Patagonia for day to day and Arcteryx for going out with the wife on cold days. Hope that helps!

Hello! Both are very good. But if warmth is most important (not lightweight or packability) then the Cold Front wins.

Did you buy any OR jacket ? I ordered the Coldfront recently. It’s warm, big hood, good for urban. It’s not compact for traveling and hiking imo. But my jacket has the smell of feather and feather leaks at stitches easily . 😢 I’m looking at Helium .

Hello! Good question. I like the looks of the Patagonia and the layout. I like the reinforced areas of the OR and the Pertex Diamond Fuse for backpacking and hard core use. I suppose that is the big difference.
