Great video I enjoy watching you work your very methodical and thorough and do the job correctly and safely. Just wondering what was the fault, I could see that the line had snapped off in a different socket but what was the test you did in the socket that you were taking your feed for the outdoor socket? Im retraining at the minute hoping to become an electrician but ive still a long way to go. Just curious was it a radial or ring circuit and was it an continuity test you did which was too high which then flagged up that there was a fault somewhere. much appreciated keep the videos coming Nathan.

Hey thanks for the comment and apologies for taking so long to get back to you. When I first tested if the circuit was in fact a ring where I was adding to the circuit. I did the end to end test on continuity. This showed I think I very high or no reading between the two line conductors. To find the fault I split the ring in half and did a continuity test which got me within a few sockets of the fault. The line must have been poorly terminated originally and it had snapped in the socket. Thanks for the feedback any more questions Ill be happy to answer. Good luck in the retraining and thanks for the great feedback.
