Beautiful design and I’m sure the plans are superb. David thinks like an engineer 😬

Glad you liked it! It was fun to build and they really are beautiful. David Bedrosian did a great job designing it and his plan was easy to follow. Let us know if you build this table and send us a photo to share in our gallery.

Any outside wood project will soon succumb to the elements but these techniques (fit, finish, adhesive) will significantly extend that time, found that larch wood (tamarack) to be the best species for outdoor use.

Living in the Northwest, we're ever conscious of weather effects on everything outdoors. We're bringing these tables inside most of the time and making covers for them to reduce exposure to the elements. We too like Larch, Cedar and Redwood, but prefer hardwoods like White Oak and this Sepele for the beautiful grain and durability for furniture projects. Our shop smelled divine during the build too!

What species of wood is this?

It's Sepele. Smells great in the shop and reasonably weather resistant. Looks great too!
