The true meaning of community and hospitality. The local tribe welcoming you to their gathering. A local land owner allowing you to fish on his property with no expectations. And you cooking and sharing true gourmet food with everyone. This is beautiful.

Not me. I wouldn't want a dog licking my fish, that's just nasty, especially if they are gonna eat it raw. I'm not saying Taku is wrong (it's not his dog) but you saw the other dude (the owner) pushed his dog so he wouldn't lick his catch, so... he should've done the same when his dog came to lick Taku's fish

I don’t think it’s “nasty” as I let my dog lick in happiness but I’ve read that dogs can get sick from the water. I’m sure if they’re eating this fish raw it’s safe but you know what i mean I hope. Not sure it’s true but kind of makes sense. I would expect any dog to be excited and want to lick but bite and ruin my catch? No!

Notice the chase that goes on in and out of the creek at the 9 minute fish... This is called the lunker dance, And is a true test of your fishing partner to hold thier laughter as you chase your fish around all the different obstructions in the river. Thanks for sharing. The cod strips looked really good. Now the scotch/Japanese(?) Fusion eggs, I now have teeth marks on an expensive screen That I doubt insurance will cover... It was still crazy good though!!

I've never had the privilege of meeting the Makah, but judging by their celebration I think I would like them. It looks just like the celebration of the small farm community I grew up in with the addition of the pride of a proud native American heritage. I just found a bucket list place to go before I die. I will be researching the Makah days celebration to find out when I can celebrate with this great community once I retire retire. It's road trip time.
