Mine from 1990 is still running fine. Just replaced the pump this year. Maintain them and they last.

Such a good looking set up. With winter coming it's making me think more about this style of set up. Trolling through some if your older videos Bro, can't wait for a new one.

MSR stoves are my favorite, I had a whisperlite for a while but I preferred the cooking ability of the Dragonfly. The Dragonflys short fall is it is very loud reminds me of a low flying jet airplane passing over head.

Good demonstration. Personal input: The inside radius on the pot support stands is too large for smaller containers to sit without spilling while thru the boiling/cooking process. The need to hold your cup during cooking as not to spill. Top of pot stands/supports too slick. Have been using this NON shaker stove for many years. And have learned it's ups and down problems. Be sure to use the stainless fuel line cable to clean the fuel line when needed. Clean the jet, stove parts. Clean and lube the pump body. This stove can be used around the seasons. It's Superior blue flame shines in the cold of winter.... Any mods made on this MSR Whisper Lite (Pre Shaker) stove would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, from the Great State of Texas

Mine has been sitting in my garage for 7 years with the pump/valve mechanism screwed into the fuel bottle. Any precautions I should take before using it again?

as long as it's sealed I don't thing you would have any problems. might want to start it and run some fuel threw it and make sure it operates properly. if it sputters or won't run then you know you need to break it down and clean it and get fresh fuel.

any ideas why the stove will prime but then it won't go to that blue flame and instead stays a red flame (even with valve very far open)?

hey man! not very active on here anymore, sorry so late. the only thing I can think is that the atomization tube is not hot enough. maybe because of too much fuel. a teaspoon in the bowl then let it burn down and crack the valve. should hiss with the blue flame. hope this helps.
