Ya, that's about the biggest waves I've ever paddled in, any worse and we would've had to spend the night out there but the forecast was only getting worse so glad we made it. Thank you!

@@OutdoorRob I was in some like that a few years back in my old grummen. But that is the difference between a 40 lb canoe and a 150 lb beamy canoe with keel.

Oh yeah that looked like it sucked for a bit there. Esp the nonstop paddling on the left into a headwind. I feel your pain. At least it wasn't raining! Lol

I watched this video cause the other day I almost rolled a couple times. It was my first time in a big lake (lake West Point in GA). Thought it was gonna be a piece of cake and boy was I wrong. I learned to do the J stroke and planned on improving it until I was basically paddling to stay upright thinking this is it. Wasn’t fun but learned quick not to let the waves hit me broadside. Awesome that you’ve got a partner, I need to find one lol. Nice job keeping calm, in control and pushing on through… something I need to work on.

We fought winds and waves like that in Wabakimi this year. Too bad all my footage was lost due to a cheap Chinese HD that corrupted all my files...cheers Fred
