Allie suggestion, I believe you could drimel out the end to slide up an inch, and secure with a spot of rubber cement glue. This should take away face touch/pop off issues. (2) If you have the green have you tested it under the black light? My mossy oak nocks reflect the uv light from flashlight at night from 15 yards. I have ordered some FOBs and will test soon. I just finished painting on my bow, love it! It's only for target practice and was only $80 anyway. Shortly to get single pin sight, drop away, and range finder. Rhineheart calls!

Allie ..I’m impressed with your presentation, articulation, ability to communicate with your followers etc . I really liked your video on cutting up a deers rear leg quarter..It’s a chore getting by the silver skin. I have a little knowledge in archery like I’ve been shooting since I’ve been 10 years old. Now that I’m 87 I look 👀 back at past state, regional and national Championships of which I’ve won … Instinctive, 3 fingers under , then compound and presently my crossbow.With over 💯 whitetail deer harvested.. I have shot with World class champion Ann Weber Hoyt and Howard Hill..I’ve been an Olympic Archery Coach and it’s time for a few suggestions for you ..Your release is flawless…but… no way use a kisser button unless you weren’t using a release which is causing your draw length to be longer .. With the kisser button on it allows you to touch your nose ..and now you can see the complete alignment of your shaft with the bullseye which is critical.. nuff said for me except I retired from the vertical bow at 17 Robin Hood’s .. To do it over I would have stayed with traditional 🏹 archery .. If I may say in passing by..””YOUR CUTE “”P.S.- Please be careful when sliding your hand back/forth on your carbon shaft if it’s fractured.. Your aware of splinters, right ?

I have a dozen and haven't had any problems with em. The thingsI've noticed is at longer distances they drop a bit more then my 4 fletch and might change your anchor point because the Fob sits so far back.. at least further back from my AAE vanes. Definitely like the simplicity. Can't group shoot em but that's not a problem. Yes they've been out for a long time now but just recently started to pop off again. 👍🏽👍🏽. One thing for sure is they definitely buck the wind like a champ. Put em out to 80-105 yards in high crosswinds and didn't have any problems... Great review and keep em coming....

For someone not wanting to do a wholesale change over, these would be a great addition to a hunting pack in the event that you loose a fletching while out in the field and you don't have the ability to re-fletch the arrow out in the field. @HondoTrailside5 жыл бұрын
If you are worried about the string angle, face, or arrow loss problem, you could simply slide FOB on the arrow, and put a small piece of shrink tube behind it to hold it forward a bit. NTE electronics makes shrink tubing that has adhesive on the inside, a 3-1 shrink ratio, and can be purchased from Amazon. I can't say whether it would work for this, but It should. However, if it doesn't pop off the arrow, you may not get a pass through. Though with turkey that can be a plus.

@OutdoorsAllie5 жыл бұрын
Not positive. Good question, I'll test!
@Gsxr110003065 жыл бұрын
Both the FOB and nock come off the arrow at the same time on a pass-through. Best advice I can give Allie is to loosen up the nock when installing the FOB by turning it in the arrow shafts to wear down the little ribs on the nock. You want the nock to be a little easier to slip out of the arrow than your standard first time insertion nock. There are other videos as well showing how to make an arrow tracker for when the FOB pops off. Great review! I used to shoot groups with the FOBs and even attend 3D shoots as well. Lots of people don't like shooting at my arrows when they're in the target for fear of breaking the FOB, but I alway told them fire away. Even when the ring breaks, they still fly just as accurate.
@SoberNomad3 жыл бұрын
My first question when I saw them on your arrow was the pass-through situation. Popping off seems somewhat unlikely to me, plus seems like a big disadvantage. What’s wrong with traditional fletching? I can’t see why this “upgrade” is helpful or necessary.

Just a cool idea! Haven't used it to hunt.
@ericwiitala54075 жыл бұрын
Great video and I was thinking about those really for 1 reason. I hunt CO... It's ALWAYS windy. I'm assuming that in 10 years, they improved the product. I'm really 50/50 on whether I want it to pop off on a pass through. I use lighted knocks and can see them clear as day hitting (or missing) my target also in recovery of my arrow. Shot a deer with my lighted knock at 50 yards quartering away a tad. Arrow went through and just barely hung in the far side of the deer. Deer took 2 jumps, arrow came out. Had a perfect line of where I shot the deer and where it ran due to I could see the arrow. Picked up a straight blood trail and got my deer. So, I don't know..??

@@AntlerAssassinTakovich +1 I never have but it is hands down the favourite rest of folks who do not want the clutter and expense of drop aways, yet want to shoot large fletchings and carbons. @@OutdoorsAllie thanks Allie(: and also, arrows if possible? Like what kind you use for targets and what you use for hunting and such(:

I would shorten your draw .5" and add a kisser button they kind of got a uncool stigma but i dont know why once you try it you will be in love. Thanks for the video great as always

I used to have one. Maybe I'll go back.

Mark s I’ve tried short draw length and now it’s about where hers is I shoot much better at that position. What is the point of a shorter draw? Is it just making a more consistent anchor point because that doesn’t make sense to me plus if you’re a woman you get a little faster Arrow for hunting.
@brandyjackson69905 жыл бұрын
Mark s Well I for one sure welcome constructive criticism that’s why I tried different drawl lengths,I will try anything if I think it may results in better accuracy. I guess my question is why do some think you can anchor better with a shorter draw? I mean don’t you just find that spot and just put it there wherever that maybe?

@its me take things personal much? I don't hunt paper plates i hunt deer and having a kisser button is one less thing to think about when buck fever hits to each there own sorry your so unhappy

John lusk uses these , he has done a great review. He also uses a bright coloured wrap that shines really bright if you put a torch beam on it

I wonder what it would do if you could get a pass through on a deer would it break it off and tear up your nock

I believe so. Not positive though. I will test that.

Nice Review Allie , I remember seeing these a couple of years back . Seems to be a mental block with me what's on my arrow Fletching vs. UFO :) It sure looks like it holds a true flight .. May give them a try though . Best Wishes

H allie it's been awhile. Great product review. If fob falls off when you shoot an animal I would suggest a color on your shaft maybe neon green or blaze orange so you can find your shafts easier. I had never heard of this product before...but I definitely find it intriguing. Take care guys...God bless you....curt P.s. are you guys gonna put some fresh pork in the freezer. I know Florida is over run with piggies....

im wondering if the deer are more likely to see them with longer shots. as opposed to fletching. as well as your other concerns. great presentation though alie. the pup so big!
@OutdoorsAllie5 жыл бұрын
No sure about that, interesting thought though. Thanks for watching!
@joeditz485 жыл бұрын
Deer don't perceive color like us, however their eyes are way better at seeing movement. Color will have no impact. I think it was someone on buck commander that went bowhunting in a full Santa suit and arrowed a doe at 15 yards
@d-arts71395 жыл бұрын
@@joeditz48 i wasnt referring to the color. im talking about its mass, and with a longer shot, and extra time in the air, if deer might have a longer time to see it coming at them. just curious
@joeditz485 жыл бұрын
d s very unlikely will be any difference from veins. Deer mostly react to the sound of a bow going off, not seeing the arrow.

Enjoyed the review. I had seen them before , never seen anyone shoot them .they seem to shoot really well but concerning the pass-through shot and finding your arrow would be my greatest concern. but I will say this... I like the name.
@OutdoorsAllie5 жыл бұрын
No doubt! Thanks Eugene!
@fobarchery27685 жыл бұрын
Eugene, as long as your nocks aren’t extremely tight, pass through is not an issue. Actually there is less resistance during pass through since the arrow is bare after the FOB pops off. As far as finding your arrow most guys and gals use fluorescent or reflectice arrow wraps.
@billeldridge37715 жыл бұрын
If you dont mind them falling off every shot. They are also noisy and suck in the wind.

Raytheon engineers designed them. I got my trial ones from one of the engineers years ago.
@allenshepard79925 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. I'd expect more stabilization and flight time. Arrow slowing down faster due to round air foil but then flying longer due to aerodynamic lift. Please do a side by side and check field point depth as a guide on how much energy was left in the arrow.
@OutdoorsAllie5 жыл бұрын
I like that idea. Thanks Allen!

Very interesting product and maybe fun to try, but they don’t seem too practical for regular use. Also, I guess you can’t shoot them with a traditional wood bow. Anyway, as usual, love your video. Well done. Mark 👍🙂

After I watched some video where a dude ripped one of these fobs apart and it kept shooting well decided to pass on these.. I think he was trying to highlight the selling point that they can get very badly damaged and still fly great,but in reality to me it just proved that the shape and so on has actually nothing to do with how well an arrow flys..
