I believe blade rotation is to even out the wear on the lift portion of the blade. The right hand blade sees more grass clippings and other debris from the left and center blades and the lift portion of the blade will wear out. I have a ton of oak trees and the acorns would do a number on that left portion of the blade.

This brings back memories of our Doberman Darth (as in Darth Vader) who used to jump and swim in the pool with us; she would even jump off the diving board on command. I have noticed owning my Kubota B8200 for 35 years now, that these are not automobiles or trucks, and the parts are smaller and cannot handle the abuse or torques we put on the cars. So. I'm more careful with the repairs! I found this out repairing a universal joint on the front wheel drive where I was bending the yoke in the press! Easy big boy!!

Love the extra content. That mower deck looks like a maintenance nightmare. With a MSRP of $3200, that deck cost more that half of my commercial 60” Toro Zero Turn. I have a tractor as well and considered a finish cut mower, but love having the dedicated zero turn with same cutting swath and more maneuverability. Keep living the good life Eric O!

Well he just showed you how it is not bad at all for the Kubota. If your zero turn has three blades, then taking them off the sharpen is a wash. Fact is, the Kubota tractors with the diesel engines won't even know or care if the grass is tall or wet (though generally nobody is gonna mow with it tall and wet to avoid heavy clumping killing the grass). And you can just buy the tractor to use as a mower, but with the TLB you have the loader and the backhoe, something the zero turn can't possibly do.

I have a BX2680, with the 60" mower deck...the top spindle shields are now plastic, as well as the discharge chute. I have the non-drive over deck, with them, you turn the gauge wheels 90 degrees to the deck, and roll the deck out from under the tractor...to move my deck around I use the pallet forks on my tractor too.

we always put a bar in the front mount (or use the link) lift it up from there and drained it from the fill hole. then you are right there at the blades. fwiw kubota branded oils are made at valvoline last i knew. check the oil in that gearbox often. the design makes it hard to see a leak and last gearbox i did was about 700.00 for just gears and brgs no labor. with the driveshaft make sure the outer lock collar is even or flush with the center drive hub. all it takes is a small piece if dirt under a lock ball to not latch in place. a bad day is a driveshaft. a really bad day is a transmission housing. done a few of those.

Eric, you should be fine but triple check the kubota oil spec vs the 80w90 you put in. Reason I bring this up is it’s not uncommon for there to be brass, bronze, or copper in ag equipment gearboxes. Most of the modern gear oils are not yellow metal compatible and will tear up bronze/brass bushings. While I’m not so sure how common brass, bronze, or copper is in newer gearboxes I would make sure.

Eric, dare I say, the measuring cup that Round-Up Weed killer supplies with the quart size container is the perfect size for getting into tight spots. I also use the same cup for oil changes on my Honda EU2000 generator, since Honda didn't think that far ahead to include a engine oil drain hole. Kubota machines are well designed for the most part. At least they didn't go with a sealed for life gear box/transmission like most new vehicles come with
@LisaMedeiros-tr2lz
@LisaMedeiros-tr2lz Жыл бұрын
New vehicle transmissions are NOT sealed for life. Don't believe what the manufacturers tell you. You still have to service the transmission by dropping the pan. They purposefully don't give you a dipstick. They don't want you to service the transmission fluid or know how it has deteriorated and have that be an easy place to refill when you are done from up top. Then when it fails for lack of service, you buy a new car. Alternatively, they purposefully make it harder for the do it yourselfer because they want you to take it in for service if you are aware enough to know it still needs to be serviced, but are intimidated to do it yourself.
@gungadinn
@gungadinn Жыл бұрын
@@LisaMedeiros-tr2lz Lisa, I know that the location of the dip stick tube on the transmission has a block-off plug instead of a dip stick. A friends 2017 or 2018 Ford F-150 had the dip stick delete. The manufacturers are doing everything they can within the law to thwart the Right to Repair laws. Make it difficult to service, and it goes to a shop. The Indy shops have to pay for a subscription to computer resources like Service Data or the manufacturers specific diagnostic software. As for me purchasing a new vehicle to replace one that failed due to "Sealed for Life BS, probably isn't going to happen.
