I've had my Breeo X24 for 3 or 4 years now and love it, a couple of things to note. Start with smaller splits so you can begin building a bed of coals ASAP. Stuff the fire pit with wood, the smokeless feature works best when the pit gets roaring, these don't run well with a small fire built in the center. It usually takes 15-20 minutes before it goes totally smokeless. Stick with smaller cuts until the coals are running hot then step up to bigger splits. Keep the wood below the rim, any wood above the rim will smoke. Place a layer of concrete pavers under the fire pit to keep the heat from cracking your concrete slab, ask me how I know 😪. Get the ridiculously priced little shovel they make for scooping out the ash, it really is easier, my kids got me mine for father's day. Our average weekend fires burn about a half of a row across the pickup bed roughly 5' x 1.5' of 16" wood in 4 hours +/-. I normally burn about a pint of whiskey in the same amount of time. Here on the Washington coast I'm burning dry Alder, Douglas Fir is good too but pops and throws a lot more burning embers in your lap. I don't know how anyone could need the bigger X30 model, we comfortably fit 8 chairs around our X24. You would need a firewood business to keep up with the amount of wood the X30 could burn......

I was debating the X24 vs the X30 and this definitively settled it. I really like the Breeo and now I know which way to go. Thanks for this comment, I genuinely appreciate it.

@grabow39587 ай бұрын
@@FeedbackFarmacy Haven't tried any of the manufacturer logs but I question those building the bed of coals that you need to heat up the sidewalls and make the smokeless action work as intended. Some charcoal briquettes in the bottom layer might help????

Love our 24"Breeo. The big positive is that it throws more heat off the assembly. The one caution is that it will heat up and dry out your concrete under the unit, so it would be wise to place it on thin fire brick.

Mike- I've had my Breeo X30 for two years and love it. I sunk mine into the ground so it sits almost flush with grade...it's a Breeo approved install method. As the wood turns to hot coals, keep pushing them to the outside to heat the walls...you get the best smokeless burn and some cool flames coming out of the holes on top- which is the hot gas that burns the smoke. One note- while I don't have the sear plate (intentional decision) they do make the opening considerably smaller so while you can still fit your 16" logs in, it's just a bit more of a tight fit. The 30" has so much room (I have to outpost grills) that the sear plate wasn't necessary. If you are thinking of sinking one in W VA, I can tell you how I did it...ENJOY the Breeo.

All right Mike…you’ve sold me on the Breeo. I just love their story and that manufacturing is all in Landcaster. A tip…we’ve really enjoyed using the Solo Ranger (smaller of the three sizes) on top of a granite outdoor dinner table. We use the stand to keep the heat off the table surface and we also like using the optional heat deflector to push heat outward to provide warmth while eating outside in marginally comfortable temps. We custom produce 12” length firewood for folks using the Ranger and 14” for folks using the Bonfire. At home we use salvaged scrap end pieces from firewood logs that are inconsistent in length and just grab the ones that fit the application.

I just lay a piece of flat steel in the bottom to cover the hole, and that has become our fire pit. We love it... it has a long family history, makes a nice fire, and puts off a lot of heat if you really stoke it up. And it didn't cost a dime. Works great! Enjoy the fires!!

I have a Breeo that I bought from Sam's club and it came with the spark screen, the cover and a lower panel. I use mine mostly in the fall and winter due to it being so hot in Texas. I love the way the outer ring radiates the heat, causing you to sometimes have a need to move away from it. Also the drier the wood the less chance of it smoking, even when the wood is first igniting.

England here. That Solo stove, the one you said was a bit too small is just like home-made ones (or semi-amateur at least) that people here make out of the internal drum of a domestic washing-machine. Stainless steel, lots of holes and if you keep them on the rear spindle you have the workings of being able to mount the shaft into or onto a base plate to get it up off the ground. If you can get one and keep the bearing and bearing housing still fitted (they are quite robust and chunky) they can be persuaded to spin with a bit of a push, which makes the flame vortex. Obviously that can be a bit dangerous (you need a welding glove or a push stick) and who wants to spend all evening pushing a drum round? When they have had a first use the stainless turns lovely colours of purple and bronze and gold. They're obviously home-made but operate very well. Some industrious souls make a little side-business or cottage industry out of them in summer by collecting old washing machines off the scrap dealers, removing the drum and knocking up three legs or a stand off the rear spindle. They sell for about £50 I believe - that's about $60 currently.

Doesn't get much better in my book than sitting next to a fire. Our spring was too wet this year on the nights I was off, so we didn't have any fires. Summer in Alabama is just to hot and humid. I have a big fire pit made of a 48" stainless with concrete pavers around it. Definitely not smokeless. It is big enough for 12 people to sit around. I may look into one of these for my backyard for something smaller to use. Thanks for showing it to us.

Good to hear that you were able to get one made "locally". The Solo fire did tend to stay concentrated in the middle, likely as the wood was packed a bit tighter and the pieces of wood feed off the heat from the other pieces, that didn't hsappen as much with the Breeo.

And the price of the The new one you got is a hell of a lot more expensive... 24-in that's stainless steel is 799!! Versus the bonfire you can get with the stand, and the carry bag for only 319!! You could have just got the Yukon from Solo stove which is 27 in that'll cost you only $400.. Solo stove is still the best option overall even though the one you have is pretty good.. The bonfire is perfect especially if you get the heat deflector. ONE BIG THING YOU'RE MISSING IS WITH ALL THESE STOVES BIGGER THEY ARE THE MORE THEY EAT WOOD LIKE CRAZY!! SO THE TRADE-OFF WITH YOUR NEW ONE.. YOU GOING TO BE GOING THROUGH FIREWOOD VERY FAST COSTING A LOT MORE MONEY... That's just the nature of these type of fire pits smokeless fire pits. I sacrificed the smaller one getting the bonfire 2.0 because it burns wood a lot slower and then you get the deflector and it distributes heat better than the new one you just bought kind of the best of both worlds.. And it doesn't eat your firewood like crazy

I can see using it to cook on. But, It seems for just watching a fire, a shallow bowl provides more view to the fire. With a high wall you have to have a larger fire to see the flame and you can't watch the coals from a seated position.

Mike did you say it is made out of coreten steel? If yes that is also called weathering steel. It will rust just so much and then stop. However it will streak rust onto your concrete. You should put it up on small concrete pad. I’m sure Tom can make you one. In New Jersey you see coreten steel on turnpike and parkway.
