You did great Melissa. Appreciate you and Mike. Your perspective and advise is very helpful. Both of you have great attitudes as you live life to accomplish your goals. You are right about getting outside and moving, exercising and working getting plenty of fresh air and sunshine. I was born with a vitamin D deficiency. I am 67. About 10 years ago my body and strength began to slowly deteriorate. 6 to 7 years ago I had to retire to a wheelchair. But remained active and worked in my garden. Recently I had to remain inside for about 18 months and became very weak. When I became able to go back outside, I did what I could and got lots of sunshine. My strength began to return and I feel much better being outside in the sun and fresh air. You are correct. It's very benefial. Please listen to Mike and Melissa. Stay active and healthy. Thanks Morgans. Great videos. ☝🌞💪👉

great job Melissa and it was nice to see your acknowledgement of the work it takes to set, more and compose the camera angles. Sometimes it takes more time to do all that, then it does to shoot the video!! Maybe "In the Basement with Melissa" ?? I am at the verge of starting a KZbin channel of just our everyday life and adventures of my wife and I. My wife & I have really enjoyed your's and Mike channel for about 6 months now and we watch on a daily basis. We especially like the "I'm not an expert" attitude of you two and the down-to-earth atmosphere portrayed in the videos. We first found out about your channel through our emails from Rural King. Now....teach the children. Somehow I believe they are teaching their children the benefits of a work ethic. And just as I was watch the end of the video and writing a comment (ADD here) the lady asked what do I like to do outdoors. In a word... EVERYTHING. I’m in my 78th year and mobility ain’t what it once was, but hunting (for Texas pesky pigs) and other around the place (5 acres) tasks are facilitated by a golf cart. Been lurking for awhile here and FINALLY decided to subscribe.

Melissa you did very well for your first time. I like how you handled yourself keeping the hands away while the splitter was going through a billet. Yes we call them billets here in central PA. One suggestion. When you or Mike are finished splitting always be sure the ram is fully retracted because the ram is very suseptable to rusting if left exposed and causes excessive wear on the oil seal. I have always been impressed by the amount of heat calories in wood before even burning. Cutting down, cutting into billets, hauling, splitting and stacking always bring some sweat to my brow.

Yes it IS a lot of work! Had an insurance health questionnaire, one question was about exercise. Not ONE answer had anything to do with the exercise one gets doing outdoor work. Everything was walking, running, going to the gym, etc Try shoveling snow, cutting, bucking, splitting and stacking firewood, shearing a reluctant alpaca. Plenty of cardio in those! One suggestion Melissa, if you put the source wood on the same side of the splitter as the trailer you don't need to throw the split wood so far. Less exercise but as you know, sometimes that is a good thing.
