I bought my first house at 20 in 1977. I paid $32900. Two years out of high school. Went to trade school and worked nights for two years. Bought the the place I’m in now in 1983. Never owned a new car till 2000. Paid cash for it. Worked my a?! Off (two jobs) for 40+ years as a mechanic had my house and property paid off at 52. Retired comfortably at 62. This college thing is the biggest scam out there right now.

I did the same thing, worked the summers and weekends during high school. Started working the trades right after high school and continued till retirement. Bought my house three years after high school, still live in it. Made sacrifices like living out of town and working long hours. My dad taught me good work ethics and glad he did. Retired at 63 and living comfortably now.

My wife and I started out in a house trailer, worked 2 jobs each, did with very little, drove total junkie cars, no restaurants unless we worked there! With all that said I think after observing some of my friends spend their time and resources on alcohol, weed, cigarettes, bowling, etc., that was the biggest stuff we avoided and were able to retire young. Sorry to ramble

NAFTA killed us, I live in Central NY our mills were shut down or down sized. We had an Air Force base that NEADS is still currently operating. They closed the base and we lost about 30,000 people in our city. I watched grown men cry at Rome Cable when they were fired after working 30-40 years and lost their retirement, 401K eventually their homes. I turn 60 this month, the last 40 years I’ve thought of everything lost and it continues. Trump and his new future cabinet is the closest we’ll get to fixing this country.

I have been a registered democrat all my life. At 72 years young, I too am feed up with these leaders. I have never voted a straight ticket, but after this election is over, I will be changing to republican. I have been feed up for many years. I was just visiting San Angelo Texas last week. I noticed more homeless people roaming all neighbor hoods. Homelessness has increased here in western Kentucky. My neighbor is behind on their house payment by 2 months. He works all of the time, but still losing ground. With three young children, the mother is unable to work. I voting for Donald tomorrow. I didn’t see Mrs Harris on the primary ticket. I meant to comment on this video last night, but I have to say I AGREE with everything you said! I worked my butt off starting at 8 years old, cutting grass for people that could not get their kids to do it. I did everything I could to make money. I graduated in the spring of 1977 and bought my first car that August, a 1977 Cutlass Salon with every bell and whistle I could get. I turned 18 in October, and yes, I needed dad to sign to say I could spend my money on the car. Anyway, I just turned 65 last month. Anyway, we got married in 1985, and we were poor, but we always got the things we needed. We love watching your videos and your family. We also love seeing Hunter on the videos, even when we have to spot him by the house waiting on you, LOL! Until next time, stay safe, and may God bless your days as He always does ours! I'm glad you went back 40 years but i would also argue the rise in living costs has massively went up over the past 4 years. This is why these days most young people 18-35 years old live with their family members and people over 65 can not retire. This should not be America. If they didn't force Trump out 4 years this would not be the case!

Nope, I think that too, but I'm also hopeful more people are waking up to see just how much the media covers and lies for a certain party, and that our government is really corrupted. I hope Trump gets so many votes that they can't rig the numbers. Already seeing some county's in certain states trying to pull a fast one. You know people are waking up when you see some blacks, hispanics, Muslims, Jews and Amish supporting Trump like never before! I'm not a GOP fan boy, but I did vote Red down the party line, and any Judge that was (D) appointed I said no on keeping them. Democrats have gone off the rails and someone needs to get us back on track. I'm MAGA for life, if you ain't a MAGA supporter you are a traitor in my book.

Can't answer a simple question. Like you said she wants to give more money away they don't have. What are they thinking. Answer is they are not thinking of the long-term out come. Trump might be a real jerk but i still think he is a better option than she ever will be. God help us.

But so is Canada and Australia, and the UK and France and Italy and Germany.... What we call "The West", with its values, traditions, religion, people and culture is almost gone. its been replaced by something else.... most of us are now minorities within our own countries and culture. many places is the US or Australia or the UK or Canada resemble Gaza, Islamabad or Damascus.. sad.

It's not gone, but as always, society develops, sometimes for something bad and sometimes for the better, but regardless, it always gets better over a longer period of time, we can sometimes wish to go back to a time that once was when we were younger but it is the new generations who decide the future, not us older generations, we have had our time and our opportunity to shape society and we have done that but that is history and others are taking over now, deal with it

I was 1st in line yesterday to vote. Got there 2 1/4 hrs ahead of opening at 1. Voted for Trump primarily and a few others. Let's just admit that this debacle CAN'T be "fixed" but about all that can be done is to try and get this somewhat under control. As far as Trump, there are things about him I don't like, but I believe in my heart he can and will help this country, but not alone. He has good peoplecready to step up and do their part. We've needed a business person in charge vs. a "politician" agreeing with everyone on everything to not upset a few instead of doing what needs to be done for the betterment of this failing country. Folks, we as a country are in a real shite hole and the current administration and what's threatening the horizon sure ain't the answer. It's going to come down to 1 thing. Do you hate or dislike Trump more than you care about this countries future and YOUR kids and grandkids future. If you don't care about your future family's future than just throw in the towel, because we WILL be done for 😢😢😢😢

I think pretty much the way you do. I just don't like big government. Big government causes all the problems that we have now. When we have small government, and things are left up to the private sector; businesses grow, inflation goes down, jobs are created from expanding businesses, people have more money. Things are much better. I also don't want our rights taken away. But before a lot of this can happen, we have to get an government administration to make some changes in our government policies. Right now, in our case, a lot of changes have to be made. Biden and Kamala have been a disaster and Kamala hasn't said anything about how she is going to fix the economy. Only a lot of word salad. If you have paid close enough attention, you will have noticed that Obama has been right there behind the scenes. When Obama went into office he was worth about 3billion. When he left the presidency, he was worth 54 trillion. That's 54 times more than any other president. You have to ask yourself, how can this be? I think with Biden's health decline and Kamala's record, I think Obama is still up there calling the shots. I think that Trump is going to be our only chance at getting our government back to some control that will work for us, the people. I've prayed so much for our country. I love our freedoms, our Constitution, and I want it not for myself, but for all and future generations so that they can have some of the same. Thank you Mike Morgan for speaking out with your honest opinion. It all makes just perfect common sense. Again, I appreciate you and thanks!

In the process of living on next to nothing, money wise, got married and helped raise two daughters. We bought our first and only house in 1988 for less than $50,000. I agree with you 100% on your political views. Every vote count's and everyone that is LEAGELY able to vote needs to do so. Every vote count's weather it is for city, county, state or federal, we get who or what we vote for. Harris with her false promises and outright lies will help destroy this great nation. Everyone in my family will be voting for President Trump .

I built my first home in 1980 at age 23 and it cost me $50,000 for the building lot and $70,000 to build a 2,700 sq-ft home. That same house today is over $1,000,000. Granted I did the framing, window installation, insulation, Shiprock (plaster back then), etc. I had a $50,000 mortgage at 12 3/4% and it was tough for sure. I love your common sense analysis of things and it resonates with me whole heartedly. As you know I'm Canadian but if I were voting as an American, I don't have any faith in Kamala. Simply put, she has been at it with Biden for almost 4 years. What's going to change under her leadership, oh wait she's going to keep taking direction from her so called same experts. I agree with you 10,000 percent Mike, but one thing no one takes into consideration is how dumb people are with their money now a days. out parents and grandparents would never buy a home that has a payment that's 50% of their income or a car 2-3 times their yearly income. i believe we could control a lot of this inflation if people were not so stupid with their money and didn't try to keep up with the jones at every turn. its not the root cause but its defiantly a huge factor for sure. Mike, I watch you because you are real. Sadly, my health has deteriorated so much that doing most things is nearly impossible. Yet, I've lived long enough to know real folks who are good and the ones who are shysters. The facts are that our government hates us because we are finding out so much they have done to enrich themselves at the cost of the nation. I could tell you stories about our failed judicial system, unions, etc that it seems so many just ignore or simply dismiss. How many times in the recent past have we been called liars becasue we told folks bad things were going to happen if they did "X". Yet, we were ignored and told to sit down and shut up or they would make an example out of us.

Got married in 1985 and bought my first home in 1986 at age 26 for $52,000 and first new car in 1987 for $6,500 (Plymouth Reliant). Worked in IT for 40 years, paid off my second home in 2007 at 47. Retired at 63 in 2023, raised six kids with 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. My kids have the same work ethic and path. However, my one daughter I paid cash for her college degree as a Social Worker from Slippery Rock University of PA who has earned her Masters Degree as well; something way more useful than Gender Studies. I do not see this type of direction in most of Millennials, Gen X, and Gen Z.

I was in my early 20s. My 1st home cost me 34900. I got a life insurance policy to cover the house if something happened to me. My next home cost me 39000 less than a decade later. The home I'm in cost us 80000. The facts are that in all cases we were debt-free. No one gave us anything and we had to come up with the down payment. The interest rate on my home was over 13%. So, I am tired of hearing about the problems this generation voted in that made the economy so bad. How many times had we stated that the policies of these folks voted in would ruin the nation? Yet, somehow we who did the work and scrimped and saved are given something that is a load of BS. How many folks are going to lose their homes becasue of the policies of those in power becasue of home insurance and huge increases in taxes? All becasue of those that wanted a mentally challenged individual and not the Orange Man. 😠

Mike great video. I feel the same. I graduated from H.S. in 1978 then went to Diesel school. I swung a wrench working on cars in my parents garage for people since I was 15. I bought my first truck new 1978 K20 chevy (4 x4) and including tax the truck was $7450. 00. It's amazing. We have bigger issues ahead with supply chain problems. I've had long conversations with manufacturers and young salespeople. I talk about the issues at hand not having a skilled work force to replace all the guys that are retiring that are my age. I am the generator sales and rental business here in New Jersey. We do some big generators for campuses hospitals large facilities meeting generators that are 2000kw and larger. Machines like these are 2 million dollars a piece end up depending on what you order both from Caterpillar in from Cummins; If I put an order in for a machine that size today, the wait time is usually about 22 or 23 months. There telling us right now from either company. They don't have the workforce to run enough plants to make enough of the big engines that go in is giant machines to handle the demand. A whole topic the educational workforce could be had by you. For the last thirty or forty years everybody was told that if they didn't go to college they couldn't make a good living or wouldn't amount to anything. No, everybody went to college, got useless basket weaving degrees, that are useless in the workforce. And now they have tons of college debt. Most of the high schools have gotten rid of their trades classes even cosmetology classes for women getting into the certain other businesses that are using everyday life. Things like welders, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, every one of the unions all over the place have programs in place and recruiting begging people to come and work and they'll pay for school. They'll pay to train you and give you a guaranteed job and a serious wage. This is 30 years worth the missing workforce won't be repaired or recovered in our lifetime. It would take a concerted effort of our educational system, the government, and people to think about things that need to be made. As I was growing up in Cleveland Ohio I watched over the years as the machine shops one of the time we're sold and auctioned off and the old Bridgeport lathes were shipped overseas to China and so went those jobs that we're all successful and that supported the auto industry in northern Ohio and Michigan. None of these educational Courses are ever available in high school anymore. All the current trade schools that are open right now are packed and can't train enough kids fast enough for the demand. I can't get switch gear, I can't get Transformers. They're all telling me months and months to wait for things that I need for my industry. I have paying customers with briefcases full of cash that can't even spend it with me because I can't get them what they need. And this is nationwide from every manufacturer. It's just a mess. This supply chain issue is the next big problem without having a work force to replace me. I have no idea how Kamala going to build all these houses when there's nobody to build them.Try calling the contractor and find out how long it takes to build a new home nowadays. Ok I talked enough. Im with you 100% in your thinking. Keep up the good content. My best to the family. Mark Johnson President Atlantic Power & Equipment

I'm kind of late in viewing and responding to this video but Mike you're Spot on in your thinking. I've worked in a few different fields from Grocery Retail/Wholesale, the Auto industry ( Retail, Commercial and Government Contracts) and and finally retired in a government position. What surprise me the most when transitioning from retail supply side to government was the amount of WASTE in the government sector . I had a very substantial budget for my department and I prided myself in keeping my fleet in top shape. When it came time to review our budgets I was always struck that no matter how well the fleet was maintained and operational , Even though I had for instance 3 pieces of equipment in top notch shape, my budget required me to buy new to satisfy the budget or lose my expense . In other words buy it whether you need it or not it's part of the budget! Our government operates on this principal that if you have a budget for it but don't need it buy it anyway ! THere is no telling how many abandoned buildings the government owns and not in use but they still maintain the idea they have to keep them instead of returning them to the open market. Since wwII our government had found out that war is profitable and there's no telling how many congressmen are investing in the industry that supplies that machine. I've always said it takes a businessmen to build a successful business but only government can cripple it with regulations and laws. Sorry to be so long winded but I think you understand my own disappointment in our current situation.

I couldn't agree more with the thoughts you laid out, Mike. I have voted for Republican candidates since I was eligible, with Ronald Reagan being the first. I am a veteran of 13 plus years and did not even feel financially confident buying a home in any of the states where I was stationed/lived in. I had to leave active duty and spend several years in the civilian world to develop the proper income for that privilege. A leopard can't change its spots, as the saying goes, and we will only get more of the same money sucking activity we endured for the last four years if the vice president is elected. I have heard the argument that she was not in charge, so it was President Biden who actually accelerated the financial and national security spiral. I must inject the vice president is complicit in all that happened. She was in the room when major policy decisions were made. For the Democratic party, there is now some sort of awakening to the problems that must be corrected, and they are trying to force the vice president on us as the savior, yet, again, we come back to the adage "a leopard can't change its spots" and the problems they created can only be resolved by a passionate, non-political business-minded individual such as former President Trump. This is the choice. Let's pray for the best outcome here, for a prosperous and secure nation sooner rather than later.

Voters will vote for who they typically vote for 95% of the time, and while I too hope Trump is re-elected, there are a lot of democrats that will be voting for Kamala whether they like her or not. However, there are promising signs that he will prevail... but like a friend of mine said, I don't think she will win the election, but the democrats will do everything they can to ensure Trump isn't elected. Close them down and bring the men and women home to lock down our borders. Why don't we have bullet trains from Maine to California (i don't know why anyone would want to spend money in California)? I rode on a bullet train in Japan in 1985 that went over 200 mph and my drink never moved on my table. The bottom line of this reply is why doesn't Wash. Mike, you're correct with the numbers but you're over simplifying the macro economics. Here are just a few of the complications you are overlooking. Too many parents push their kids into college without looking at the return on investment resulting in increased student demand and inflated tuition. House square footage and options has increased over the years. Households eat much more outside of the home. Vehicles have too many options driving up cost and complexity for insurance and repairs. In general, you cannot underestimate the average consumers WANT to spend.Etc. etc.

@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgansYes, that's also an issue. That's the point I'm trying to make with only a few sentences. It's more complicated than you originally stated. Another example is Healthcare which also expanded quite a lot since 1984. We now have prescribed meds and services with such buildings on nearly every block. (Or tampons in boys restrooms???) Complex issues require complex solutions. But don't fear, I'm with you patriot. I'm not blind to the radical beliefs of platitudes of hope and joy. Nor do I blindly support comments from a buffoon. Absolutely agree 100% with you on that! There are some die hard democrats that would vote for Osama Bin Laden himself if he ran on the democratic ticket and those kind of people drag us all down!!

We desperately need Voter Reform . In my opinion to have the right to vote one should in some capacity be a CONTRIBUTOR to the System . A man who rises at 4:00am to milk then on to tend the fields and feed 1000s should have a stronger vote than an Inner-city Welfare recipient ....... THIS is why our Democracy is failing !!!

1983-1988 t-bird was available with a 2.3 liter, cast iron inline 4 cylinder with turbo. I retired from the AF in 87 and wanted one of those so bad, but with new wife and family, retired and new job in the works the paid for 83 Accord looked better.
