Wow! That’s a nice chunk of oak. When we built our house in 1998, I took some 70’ spruce down and some red oak, had a guy come in with a portable woodmiser ( on a trailer) and cut the logs. built my cabinets and did my basement with it. Turned out awesome. That is a beautiful log. That’s really gonna be cool in your office.

The power company took down two red oaks like yours 0n our place and I had one heck of a time removing them from the woods with my bobcat!, I hauled 15 logs out of there and it up for firewood for family members that needed it for heating. So I kept one 5' log thirty inches in diameter to make a coffee table and to end tables, I don't have a sawmill so I'm going to try and cut 2 boards 2" thick with a chainsaw and then try and plain them down!. Your sawmill does a great job can't wait to see your office!, I enjoy all your videos!.

Mike - Beautiful wood coming out of that log. Should make for something equally beautiful for your office. As I read Keith Burch's comments below, I'm thinking this man doesn't really know you. I don't see you ever sitting "back at your desk and admire all that you've accomplished." You may smile a bit here and there at your successes, but "sitting back," that's just not you. I'm betting you won't relax until they put you in the ground. I do join Keith in thanking you for bringing us along on your adventure there in the hundred acre wood. Blessings to you, Melissa, and the kids. Hi to the Hunt Man, Hannah, and Eva.

Good morning Mike from MN. Make sure you get all the sawdust off of those pieces, oak is very susceptible to getting black stains if the sawdust is left on it. I think it is super fine iron shavings from the saw blade reacting with the tannins in the wood, whatever the cause, it is almost impossible to clean up if it happens. Nice oak, it is looking really good 👍👍
