Memory is Rockwell, and at least one other company use to make heavy duty AC electric, dedicated “Teks” drivers similar to a HD non-impact drill motor. They were geared for torque and speed specific to drive Teks fasteners into “R-panel” and similar steel sheeting and purlins without burning out the tips spinning too fast, getting half way in and coming to a stop locking in place from lack of power, or running all the way down and twisting the head off. I was young , newly married installing us a 20’x20’ metal patio cover 14’ over a concrete patio I laid. I had tried a corded impact drill / driver, (cordless impact drivers I don’t believe then existed) a Makita drywall driver, air powered automotive impact wrench and pre-drilling and using a socket on a ratchet and a speed wrench you cranked the socket around. An older neighbor came over luckily soon my starting. Making slow progress he told me to stop and made a call to one of his friends asking if he could borrow his Teks gun. I was using larger hex head Teks screws having a washer head and rubber gasket under it maybe in inch long x 3/16”. The driver spun at just the right speed to get them drilling without bogging down or burning up the tips. They would run all the way down, flatten the rubber washer and stop if you were paying attention and got off the trigger. Right tool for the right job. Never saw one stocked at a lumber yard or hardware store and that was before the box stores. Saw one at a tool store and think Grainger’s or McMaster-Carr had them in their catalog. Lots of R-panel still going up in this part of the country but do not know what they drive Teks with now. A light weight battery powered impact driver probably is now better than the old corded fastener specific driver drills were.

Hi Mike and the Morgan family. Keep the great videos coming. Fun and relaxing to watch. I don’t comment frequently but thought I should today. When you were at Tom’s place, I could not help but see his stickers for his milled lumber did not align perfectly. I watch their channel regularly and had to tell you that you have him beat hands down when it comes to stacking milled wood. Maybe a lesson you can offer Tom! 😂. Both your channels are great to watch. Thanks for sharing with all of us.

Enjoy your channel, Happy for your success with it. You guys work hard at it and it shows. Like the kabota excavator, looks like it is balanced well, when you pick up those logs. I have an excavator that is a little smaller and it isn't that stable, but it works. I'm in Oklahoma and am glad when you talk about west Virginia and you say there is freedom there. Gives me hope for other places in America, we still have alot of freedom here in Oklahoma but can see things wanting to change. Hope you guys the best.

Mike, we in Canada use these screws for metal framing, studs and rails. they take a bit of pressure to start, fit well and hold great. The only problem we had is that they have a Phillips head, not a Robertson which you call a square. Great channel and excellent content. I would order the T shirt, but the Flag doesn't look quite right for some reason.😉⛄✅

Just a thought Mike. At the back of the log/wood pile dig a six foot hole and put a ten foot log sticking up to stop the logs from rolling off the back. That way the pile doesn't need to be so wide and is temporary with the excavator easily able to pull it up out of the hole later.

As soon as you mentioned putting up the license plates I thought, "You need sharp point lath screws." I've been using a lot of them lately on a project. I had a few but didn't know what they were called until I started searching for more. They also come in a drill point version for attachment to metal structure. My dad was a hardware guy and was just as happy to sell one fastener as he was to fill an order for plumbing a whole house. Sounds like your guy was cut from the same cloth. Great to hear about stories about folks like him and your young hard working friend who made the special delivery. 👍🏼

Mike, those screws are great for many projects. I use both the 1/2 and 3/4 inch screws for securing pegboard to the strips on the wall. The strips are secured with 2 1/2" cabinet screws to the studs under the drywall. I have finished 5 garages with heavy duty pegboard (4X8) stacked vertically. Lots of places to hang ladders, hoses, tools and store lumber. You can never have too much storage!
